I will go to the chemists tomorrow and get some anti histamines then, its definately worth a try.As i say its not only me its my old man to.It must just be some kind of rare adverse reaction to all vaping juices ??? As i say though i wont give up as the alternative is cancer sticks,i would sooner itch than smoke again I heard James is selling a naturals range of juices,do you think this would be worth a shot?

If I suffered like you mate I'd be trying everything and anything that may help. Hope the anti-histemines work but you wont know for a couple of days as they do take time to go to work on your system.

Have you tried diluting the VG with distilled water instead of using PG?

??? Hallo, came across this post and I have been on e cigs since Jan '10, apart from a few teething problems, I have adapted very well - too well. However, since June this year, I too have developed an itchy scalp and can't explain it. Tried the hairdresser, thought it may be a hair dye but she says my scalp is fine. Thought it maybe stress from work or even that I was on a diet but doesn't seem to be any of those. Then I remembered that I changed my supplier of juice and started ordering direct from China and maybe it's the PG that they use. Did anyone come up with a solution to this problem? Thanks Pixie

I don't think there's a definitive answer as such Pixie, have you tried VG mixes if it's the PG you think you're allergic to . . . some people are.
Other than that I use an Aloe Vera gel on the itchy spots I seem to develope from time to time on my face ( VG juice doesn't agree with me ) maybe you could try some Aloe Vera Shampoo/Conditioner as well?

It is unusual for smokers to be allergic to PG as it is simply an humectant and used in the manufacturing process of tobacco products to prevent drying out; therefore, we will all have been inhaling PG at some time.
Regarding itching scalp, I know a number of people who've given up smoking and have developed this problem, temporarily, so perhaps that is the answer and has nothing to do with PG or VG, but the stress of quitting tobacco.

Very interesting read. I had itchy this and that, took a tab and put cream on, still get it a bit but not much to make me concerned. Still get my bloating though, taking everything for it, trying to vape without taking air in, hoping it will pass coz its is very uncomfortable

Interesting that there are different issues that people seem to be suffering from. It could be that the itching could possibly be caused by dehydration making your skin dryer than normal. I find that if I don't drink a lot of fluid my skin is terribly dry and can be itchy. As some of you know I've had bad reaction to certain juices, I've found this is from the flavourings and not the PG or VG, certain strong flavours such as the Aftershock juice and anything very acidy causes me to have severe mouth ulcers and soreness in my throat. I do get a bit of congestion and have also found that my sleep pattern is altered but this could also be down to personal work stresses. I find that in those times when I drink tons of water everything is much better, just need to move to a hot country so I can drink more

I too have breathing problems that i never had when i smoked so i may have to switch to PG & see how i go? It does make you wonder if we are doing any harm to ourselves?

I'm not yet aware of any health problems, but it's still fairly early days for me. Definitely more thirsty, but that's normal as the vapour drys the throat. I'm coughing up quite a bit of phlegm, but that could be lungs clearing after smoking for years, although it is clear phlegm. (Sorry, not a nice topic.) Dry scalp and skin is very likely to be de-hydration. More water or/and diluted squash is the only remedy. Being de-hydrated can be lethal. When you give up smoking, your body always "rebels" in some way sooner or later.

I'm definitely more dry since vaping also I've noticed a horrible brown film on my Tongue which I never had before :/ tried everything, scrapping it, brushing it, extra mouth wash but it's persistent. Even made my Tongue bleed with my over zealous cleaning of it

i had a film on my tongue too a few weeks after i gave up smoking but it soon went away... this may have been natural or due to changing my juice to PG/VG mix... I've just noticed Nats that we gave up nearly the same day Anne bringing up phlegm is good and means your lungs are cleansing themselves... green phlegm is usually when you have an infection and brown is from tar. so clear is good
