Studies show that inhaling the vapour from electronic cigarettes cause lung damage. I was wondering what the effects of sucking non-nicotine vapour into your mouth would be (not lungs)
I have a student film I'm working on and am very health-conscious, so I want to try to get the futuristic look of the brand name edited by Perpetua but no adverse health effects.
So what are the dangers, if any, of sucking vapour into your mouth rather than your lungs?

Studies show that inhaling the vapour from electronic cigarettes cause lung damage. Could you please post a link to these studies as I am unaware of any properly peer reviewed research that has reached this conclusion. If you wish to read research or get information about the current state of electronic cigarettes I suggest going to the following places ; www.clivebates.com/antithrlies.com/www.ecigarette-research.com/web/index.php

Unfortunately there has been this joke of a study carried out by Prof Christina Gratziou which is available all over the net & has been reported on by the BBC. It has been responded to & ripped to shreds on several occasions, as has it's author, but for the lazy, ill-informed scaremongers it's still out there. www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/249784.php

Yes I remember it well and as you say other scientist and doctors were quite openly mocking of the news services jumping on it as it was a preliminary study only (and as far as I am aware has not been officially published in a peer reviewed journal even) as a fore runner of a full study.

Not sure where the good "Prof" is now, but all I can say is that I would have wanted a very large cheque & a very quiet place to hide, to put any professional reputation on the line by publishing drivel like that.

Assuming this is a genuine non-trolling query, and I'm understanding it correctly (specifically: the OP wants actors in a student film to appear to smoke something 'futuristic', and is considering using an ecig to acheive the desired effect), then a sensible outlook would be:
(a) there's currently very little high quality evidence available to suggest that it will cause any significant damage; (b) the currently available evidence in fact seems to support the opposite claim (that it won't cause any significant damage); (c) given the short-term use you have in mind, there's even less reason to worry about it; (d) if nicotine ingestion is a concern, then bear in mind that zero-nicotine e-liquid is also available. You could even just use pure propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin if all you're after is the visual effect of the vapour.

I suspect going by Raymond's IP, that he's no more interested in researching the health effects of vaping, than I am on learning how to re-wire my house.
So it's bye bye Raymond.
