Currently vaping a mixture of bright Virginia, fire cured and oriental (my own steeped concentrates) with Inawera Plum Vodka flavouring as I find the flavours get me closer to the pipe tobaccos I used to smoke. Dave

It makes me wonder how many chemicals you are getting from steeping tobacco leaves. I can't believe that you won't be getting extra nasties. I'm curious why you "can't believe" that. I'm no chemist, but I don't see why it couldn't be a relatively "nasty"-free product, seeing as the leaves are supposed to not contain any of the additives that go into processed tobacco. (For example, there won't be any acetoin added to it - so it could well pose less overall possibility of health risk than, say, a vanilla custard flavouring - and most people seem happy to vape the latter.) Then again, I have no idea what agricultural chemicals are used in the actual growing of the tobacco plants (regardless of whether there's any subsequent processing of the leaves). (The same goes for Stevia leaves as well, I suppose.) Ultimately, I'd be surprised if someone could look at the list of thousands of "nasties" in cigarette smoke and could point to many that weren't either chemicals added in the processing of the tobacco, or products of its combustion. (I may be talking complete nonsense here. If someone knows any of these facts better, I'm sure they'll correct me.)

I made some home made tobacco extract a few months or so ago using sweet virginia leaves bought from leisure liquids. I followed frogsters guide to the letter, even to this day it smells and tastes like cold tea

When I made the steeped tobacco leaf concentrate I thought it was very authentic with the GV leaves, what put me off using it was it's atomiser clogging properties.

The only issue is if it was grown organically or pesticides were used whilst growing.
I do get a nice taste from home brew from tobacco leaf but the e-liquid is a real coil gunker. I have tried all sorts of filtering, but the gunking is too high. I think it's the sugars in which we cannot extract out of the juice without elaborate lab equipment.
Flavouart golden rollie gives a nice tobacco taste.

It's not in their Tobak range for some reason. It's in their That's Nice Range. www.flavourart.co.uk/thats-nice-119-p.aspAlso read the review and use a very small percentage of flavour. (2.5%). It's quite overpowering.

chrisjw ... I've mixed Golden Rollie at 2% and couldn't taste a thing ... knowing your and my baccy buds I would up that a bit. Perique Black is recommend at 2% but I find that far too weak ... maccafan ... have you tried that sample I sent you yet? It has home steeped baccy in it ... I don't get any clogging issues with my home steeps so would be interested to see how you get on with it.

According to this page flue-curing yields tobacco with high sugar content, whereas other methods yield tobacco with low sugar content.

I tried only Virginia flue cured leaf.
Haven't tried with any others, though would like to try sun cured. But got too much juice in the larder at the mo. Will try it some time.
