Your batteries need to be in your hand luggage. Pop your liquids in your toiletry bag in the hold or use the clear plastic bags for liquids in your hand luggage and follow the rules for liquids

Can anyone tell me if there are restrictions on carring batteries/ ecigs in hand or hold luggage? Yes, you CANNOT carry Li-Ion batteries in HOLD luggage, they have to go in your hand baggage. There is no restriction about carrying E-Cigs in hold luggage other than the battery rule above. I carry bulk E-liquid in my hold baggage and a couple of small bottles in hand baggage in a clear bag as per normal hand baggage rules. Hope this helps.

Don't have any clearos/atties filled when flying, the change in air pressure makes them leak. Take empty clearos or put each one with liquid in, in a little sealable bag.

Check the list of items permitted by the carrier , and where they are to be stored , hand luggage or hold luggage . On a recent flight to Hong Kong via Helsinki there is a restriction on how many "spare" batteries you can carry . IMO it would probably be ignored but you can't take chances.
Whilst on the flight myself and daughter used both a gripper and a batt with a carto , both got questioned going through the scanner , but both where allowed through once security were told they were ecigs , shoulders shrugged by said security and off we went .
Enjoy your hols and don't worry too much about security , as others have said , don't carry too much liquid through in hand luggage

Thanks for the advice folks, very much appreciated. I'll think of you all while lying on a sun drenched beach, Vamo in one hand, large rum cocktail in the the other. Now I wonder which juice flavour would be nice with a rum cocktail :-D

I flew with batteries in my hold luggage and also vaped on the plane with no issues (other than my carto leaking due to pressure) I didn't put my ecig or clearo in a bag, I just put it into a tray next to my other belongings. The security at Manchester didn't even bother because they knew what it was. The only time I got stopped was because I didn't pack the suitcase on the way back to the uk and my other half thought a pair of furry handcuffs would be fine in our hand luggage! Needless to say, I have never been so embarrassed!

one word of advice I give is make sure your batteries and liquid are not in the same kit. I had mine packed together recently (Had a small box where i put my liquids, batteries and mods) and the battery blew up. Luckily it happened when I was opening the kit and not inside the plane. If it was inside the plane the heading would be "Islamist terrorist tries to blow plane"
