I put a couple of 18350's on to charge this morning, the battery in channel 1 has charged fine in channel 1. But the LED is flashing SLOWLY from red to green battery in channel 2. Setting is at 500mA charge. I've looked at the instructions but can't see any reference to this, does anyone know what it indicates?

Not sure what that can be Des.......as far as I'm aware the LED should either show red or green, not flashing.............could be a problem with the charger...Have you checked the terminals are clean?

Ok, well i was thinking maybe it's nearly charged and flickering but if it's only at 3.8 then it's not that, maybe time for a new charger des?

No I don't think so, the other battery charged fine and I swapped the battery over that was flashing and the other channel then flashed. So I am thinking that the 18350 has given up the ghost. I was hoping someone would say "Oh yes, a slowly flashing led means........."

DiscoDes I had the same happen with those 18350's that came with the Vamo. They were knacked. Measured at about 3.8v, put in a device and straight down to 3.0v, charger (same one) did slow flashes.

Roger that's the conclusion I came to, I was just wondering where it's mentioned in the Xtar instructions, as I could not find it

It's not, as far as I can see, but I found this on a battery forum!!!
A bad cell with super high internal resistance, where a 100mA charge current results in a voltage drop of at least 0.3V. So the cell may be resting at 3.9V, when a 100mA current is applied, the cell voltage rises to 4.20V and causes a termination of charge, which means the voltage very quickly falls back to its resting 3.9V, which is the charger re-start voltage. And the cycle keeps going.
Makes a bit of sense that.
