I was asked recently if it was necessary to wait for the Tornado/Riva batteries to start flashing before charging them, or whether it was OK to give them a top up charge.
I was always under the illusion that these batteries had a memory similar to mobile phone batteries and so have always recommended that the user waits for the battery to flash before charging.
As I have never used this style of e-cig myself I was hoping someone would give me a difinitive answer.
The batteries I use in my Screwdriver and Box 101 can be topped up at any time without shortening the usage time between charges.

I always charge new batteries before use regardless.
As for batteries that are being used, then I wait till they flash & stop working before re-charging.
Never had any problems doing this and it's never affected the life of the batteries.

Li-ion batteries - which is what's in Tornegos - exhibit no memory effect. In fact, you can extend their lifespan by topping up as opposed to flattening and re-charging.

Thanks Dave, your the man when it comes to these things. I resemble that remark > He just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Mind you, there's an art to that too scylla

Well, Hissie, if performance starts to drop off you have to diagnose whether it's juice, atty or battery that needs looking at. Given that Torgegoriva batteries last long enough for you, just keep them topped up when you're not using them, and always check juice and atty first if there's a problem. scylla

Aye - indeed. If you'd normally get a day and a half out of a battery, put it on charge when you go to bed - or just swap a freshly charged one in at half a day, or whatever. Like, I'll always put a freshly charged 18650 into the GG if I'm off out, even if it's just for an hour or two, and put the part used one on charge. On a night, at beddy-byes time, I'll take out the current 18650 and put it on charge, and drop a fresh one into the GG, for the last-thing-at-night-drop-the-kids-off-at-the-pool toke before shuteye...

Wow... what a mental image that was. Thank you Mr D.
I put my tornegova battery on charge every night regardless of its current charge. Its a shame tho because only one of my usb charger actually turns red then turns green when the battery is charged. Thats one out of 6 working people. Foolish
