Have just been checking out posts on the mixology thread. I'm not for one minute even thinking of starting to do that yet, be like running before I can walk. In time though...hopefully
Only thing that worries me is I wasn't very good at chemistry at school, is it difficult? Looking at the charts it looks it. I mean I love the idea of it, saves money, experiment and gives me something to do when hubby is on shift work.
For a beginner, cost wise, how much do you estimate it costs to set yourself up. I could pop a bit away each week now you see, then it doesn't seem a lot coming out the account at once.
Thanks.

Don't fret, once you've sussed the calculator and got all the kit, it really is as simple as measuring and pouring - like cooking but with syringes Plenty of tried and tested recipes to go at in the members' recipe thread, and I've just remembered I was going to make the AAEC capsule collection of tried and tested flavourings, which I shall do now! It's really nothing to be scared of and very rewarding when it works

Oh I see, oh I might have a crack at this next month, thank you very much. You know it's not nearly as expensive as I thought. I suppose because I've gone through nearly a hundred quid setting myself up, vaping wise, I just thought it would likely be another hundred quid.

But I suppose once I have everything in front of me it will become clear, hopefully..lol

It really isn't difficult Siffy, especially as you enjoy cooking you've a head start . . . but I'd get to grips with everything else first and sorting your Dad out. If you take on too much, you'll run the risk of ending up in a muddle.
I'd been vaping a year before I even thought about making my own eliquid, although I wished I'd done it a bit sooner now.

I will. I might maybe think to start up mixing at the start of Winter. Something to look forward to as I'm not keen on Winter at all.

I've only just started mixing myself Siffy and like everyone says, it's not difficult at all it's fun and a good feeling when you take that first vape on a juice you've made, knowing exactly what's gone into it. I wanted to keep it simple to start with, I like my menthol/minty vapes & luckily it doesn't get much easier than that. So headed over to "Postmodern Smoking" which has great reviews from other forum members and placed the following order.. Postmodern SmokingThey also have an e-liquid calculator on the site which makes it easy to work out how much of each ingredient you need to use. I also bought.. 1 Litre of Propylene glycol (PG) - £3.99 Pharmaceutical grade PG200ml Glycerin (VG) from Boots - £1.29 Boots Glycerin5g Menthol Crystals - £2.18 Menthol Crystalsso with the 10% discount on Postmodern everything came to about £30 I can make 225ml of 24mg Peppermint Menthol with that lot... or 300ml of 18mg and I'll have plenty of PG & VG left over for the next time I buy Liquid Crystal nic base going to be a bit more adventurous on my next DIY spending spree though

Oh Adam how exciting!
This is definitely something I will try early Winter time. So you save a fortune then, being able to make those amounts.
Yes, I am going to set myself a goal to venture down this path.

Siffy, I hope you don't mind but I'm moving this to general vaping board As mixing might be too much for some new members to take in

Siffy I have been vaping 9mths now and started mixing my own a couple of months ago. I had been avoiding it as I can be daft as a brush sometimes due to medications making me drowsy, but even I found it so simple I was cross I didn't attempt it before. Using the online calculators mean you don't even have to use any brain cells. Just squirt instructed amounts of each ingredient into a bottle and shake. That's it!!
Hope you do give it a go.

So you save a fortune then, being able to make those amounts. Yes, I am going to set myself a goal to venture down this path. yep it works out much cheaper than buying pre-mixed Siffy and even better than that..you can tailor the e-liquid to exactly how you like it. those links are top quality B.P/USP/Pharmaceutical grade ingredients and the result of my first batch has been.. perfecto was vaping Hangsen before I tried my first mix and the difference in quality (mostly down to the superb Liquid Crystal I think) knocked my socks off! I read loads before I started & watched lots of youtube vids etc but I think I just over-complicated the whole thing, when I had the stuff in front of me and the e-juice calculator, it was just common sense and using a syringe anyway, plenty of more experienced juice makers than me here who'll be happy to help if you have any questions, when the time comes
