Was staggered to read LR atomisers should not be used with riva as battery life can be decimated yet when using non LRs experience is pretty dire in comparison.

I've always used LR atties with my Riva, it may well make the battery use shorter but I always keep a couple of spare fully charged batteries with me.

As Dees said Birdy, using LR will decrease pretty much any battery life. But, I still personally use them (ego/riva) and haven't had major problems.

I was thinking battery life as in needing to throw away after weeks instead of months because battery was duff - if it just means getting 8hrs use instead of 12hrs then thats not a problem.

Been advised that i understood correctly - not just reduced usage time per charge but damage causing batteries to fail is the possible result when using LR atomisers.

Unless they have specifically said it's ok, using LR atties on ego/riva type batteries can in theory damage the circuits in the batteries

Birdy I think the problem may be now that the batteries are becoming cheaper and cheaper so probably aren't as well made as when I initially purchased my original ones, one of which I still have and still works, even if only for an hour a charge LOL!

As everyone has said really Birdy - I've always used LR's with the Riva type batteries . . . . about 3-4months they last for me at optimium performance, after that they tail off.
But other's report of a much longer life.

Anything that drains a battery more quickly means it will need recharging more often. As the battery life depends on how many times it's recharged, then yes the Riva or any other battery, wont last quite as long if you use LR atties.

Again i must stress - the danger is that using a LR atty can damage a battery beyhond repair not just that usage time will be reduced per charge .Suppose its a gamble .
