What I want to know is what is the degradation in a sealed bottle in a cool place (not freezer). I'd like to know that too Des! Due to the family insisting that the freezer is for food ??? I'm running out of space and anyway,I would much rather keep it in my locked cupboard outside, much safer

What I want to know is what is the degradation in a sealed bottle in a cool place (not freezer). At a guess DiscoDes I would say between 12-18 months for 2% drop based on what I have learned so far. The freezing has no real quantitative effect on the nicotine at domestic appliance temperatures, so it should be assumed that it's only effect it to slow the catalysis. It's quite safe to say that the 2% drop is via dissolution into the solvent and the nicotine could possibly be reclaimed. The real problem is a lack of hard data. Based on rates of decomposition and/or degradation of other similar chemical compounds in solution I think it would be safe to assume: An average 1.5% drop in concentration per year for up to 5 years if stored in an evacuated airtight glass container, at 5°C or below. UV degradation should be accounted for. I may have to bury a couple of samples and test in 6 months or so.

Fantastic post! I admire the commitment to provide all that info. I recently dug out an old bottle of nic in pg that's been lurking in my steel cupboard 2 years at room temperature, and it is fine. It is just a shade darker than my new stock, but mixed as usual, it vapes as good as fresh. I do store it in brown glass bottles, and I think that does make a difference. Thanks raid, great job.

Glad to see so many people have got something from this.
I do keep following up and looking for new info but nothing significant has come to light yet.

The fact that dark haired people take longer to metabolise nicotine has for some reason amazed me.
