Whenever i use any clearos i cut down the wick so they are short,i do this as i have never had any burn tastes since doing it.The iclear that is coming with the MVP i ordered has a dual coil which is new to me so if i cut short the wicks would it affect the dual coil.

I can't imagine it would affect the actual coils, but I have never had problems with dry hits from them, so why not try it first, you can always alter it later if you have any problems

I've been using iclear 16s for 5 months, and 30s for 3 months. I've had absolutely no problems with burnt tastes, dry hits or anything else with them. They are definitely a huge step up from any clearo i've used before, with dual coils everything is better, taste, throat hit, vapour. And the heads in mine are still the original heads they just seem to go on forever. They're cleaned and dry burned as and when they need it, they really are little troopers, love em Seriously, it's up to you, but i doubt you would need to cut the wicks on these babies

Cutting the wicks will have zero impact on the coils- it will however mean that you will need to tilt that clearo a little more often to feed the coils. They are fine as is TBH - no trimming required

I would suggest giving them a go and if you have problems look for a solution

As others have said I would try them before you play with them. Remember you can also use an iClear30 Head (16 wicks) in an iClear16.

I've never cut down any clearo wicks must say Yorkshireman . . . as Blakey says it has no effects on the coil, haven't had burnt hits either.

Hi peeps. I recently acquired 2 x Iclear16 units with my MVP. Used one today for the first time, filled with a favourite juice (GVC) and got a unusual taste from the vape. It`s not a hotspot on the coil taste, not a plastice taste, it just doesn`t taste as it should ???? >: Would you think that I should have washed out this unit before using it ? to get rid of any manufacturing residue ? Or have you never come across this problem with your Iclear 16. Thanks for your feedback. Happy vaping. jeffc

I never wash anything before use jeffc The iClears can taste a bit funky at first but once you've vaped the first tank full, which won't take long,, they're fine

I bought some I clear 16s last week Jeffc & I had exactly the same taste from them, after an hour with it I was fed up of the taste & took it off my batt & put the older clearo back on, next day I tried it again & still the same, after a few days it was getting there so like karma says after first tank it will be ok, I have seen it on here somewhere that peeps advise soaking in water overnight & drying out before first use so I will try that with my other 16s

Have just tried one from my MVP kit received a few weeks ago, but have got it on one of my Spinners. Very pleased with it after only a few mins after filling it.

Unfortunately I can't make comparisons between clearos as I've only ever used iClear 16's, in fact I'm still using the original ones from 4 and a half months ago.
I clean & dry burn occasionally and have never felt the need to trim the wicks even with thicker 70% VG mixes.
The only times I've ever had a burnt taste is when I've vaped them empty.
