First mix attempts

Okay so I bit the bullet ... Got some Perfume Apprentice flavours ...used the ejuice calculator ... Oh and read the instructions   I mixed at 20% concentrate  (Caramel / Cappuccino) 65/55 PG/VG  @18mg ... steeped ... steeped ... 18 days later the smell is there but I am lacking in (the only way I can describe it is) 'depth' the same with the Black Cherry ... same ratios etc.

I know my taste buds are shot (too many years of Marlboro, Gauloises and very strong black coffee) but the blurb and reviews all said how strong these concentrates were.

Am I missing something or do I just increase the concentrate % to compensate for my mouth?

Hi Wobblybootie

Dont be disenchanted, this often happens.

Firstly did you use just flavors or and anything else such as EM or graham cracker etc.
These type of additives mute flavors.

A hi VG will also mute flavors.

You stated 65/55 PG/VG (think you mean 65/35 ????)

Can you post the full mixes and we can poss help.

Also some recipes do not have a full flavor and you need to adjust it to you own needs... which ones did you use?

I had a go at mixing today for the 1st time I thought I'd make it easy on my self so mixed my base 1st, added my VG nic to PG and 5% vodka to get a 60/40 PG/VG 30mg liquid. I normally vape between 24 and 28mg so I thought what the hell - any flavouring is still going to result in a juice that's above 20mg, not very scientific I know.

To 10mls of base I added 1ml of Menthol (homemade ) and 1/2 a ml each of PA peppermint, spearmint and creme de menth. I popped in a few drops of ethyl maltol for good luck.

Sounds a bit random, I know but I've created a juice that I love!!! I rinsed and repeated in 50ml straight away, homemade all day vape 

Saved myself some pennies to spend on mods

Did you measure your flavouring by ml's or drops WB? As there are nearer 30 drops to a ml than 20 . . . so you could be under the 20% if you did.

Mind you, I do find TPA's Caramel/ Cappuccino very strong and I think my taste buds are shot!

Hmm, Perps could be onto something there, there's nothing weak about TPA Black Cherry! Even at 10% that stuff is very powerful. Either that or you're having a case of vaper's tongue maybe?

Is your Nic base deffo 27mg, just seems an odd strength, not a common one.

Although 27 is half of 54, so might be pre-diluted 50/50??

Yep, that's the only way the amounts work out in EJMU.

This much maths hurts my head!
