As I said earlier.. 2mm rope with a full length mesh skirt. (wrap mesh tight around the rope at the top and really loose at the bottom) Oxidise the whole of the rope but only the part of the mesh that will be touched by the coil. 3 wraps kanthal 0.20 ~1.5ohms and away you go... Never ever had a dry burn or anything with that setup and the flavour was awesome for a gennie! Try it! Thanks Dan will give it a go with full mesh & .20 kanthal instead of the .25 maybe its because of the gap around the rope not drawing the liquid up. Scraped the coil of .25 kanthal, wraped my 2mm rope with mesh all the way down as per Dan sugestion 4 coils of .20 kanthal oxidised both before & after coiling pulsed the coil to get rid of any hot spots but cannot seem to get rid of the dry burn taste, could it be my coil is to loose as you can just turn it on the wick, the only way i can get a half decent taste is to really tip the RSST horizontal. I bought the RSST after having bad experiences with my did clone with simular problems. Help needed please.

My guess would be loose coil..
Never suffered with any kind of problem taste wise with mine... did benefit massively from increasing the airhole to 1.5mm though..
are you vaping with the fill plug in or out?
is the air hole in the top cap aligned with the wick? and facing you?

Dan not opened the air hole yet as it is brand new but filler plug in & air hole facing & lined up with the wick.

You need to get it as close to the post as possible, have you watched Pbursado's video on the rsst, he use mesh wick but the same principle, which is always have good wick to wire contact, you wont get shorts from the rsst either as it has an insulated wick hole and the tank bottom is the plastic tank and not metal bottom, so its just a case of concentrating on get a good wick to wire contact.

Thanks richo71 will have another go tonght, having heard such good reports about the RSST i am getting a bit frustrated with it, tending to be a bit to careful maybe.

Few more tips denis9t9Attach wire at ground so it exits at the side nearest to the centre post and with the tail hanging over the edge of the deck. Make sure the wire leaves the ground screw in a direct line to the bottom most edge of the wick. Also leave a bit of a tail as you may need to pull it tighter if the bottom coil isnt tight enough on the wick. Most likely place of hot spots are the legs in my experience so keep as much wick contact as possible. Make sure the wire is touching the deck until it gets to the wick. It won't short as it is insulated. (Massive plus point of the rsst over other gennies!) Wrap the coil in a clockwise direction quite tightly. You won't choke the wick as it has the rope inside. Finish the coil by wrapping the positive end anti clockwise around the centre post. Doing this not only gives better coil contact but also lessens the chance of hotspots. Make sure you space the coils evenly and that they glow evenly before thinking about wetting the wick. Very important that it glows evenly! Once its glowing evenly you can drop a few drops of liquid on the coil. Light it up a few more times making sure that you have absolutely NO GLOWING! If it glows when wet it will taste rank! Move the coils about or mess with the tails depending where the hot spot is until you have no glowing whatsoever. This could take a few minutes and don't be afraid to keep the coil wet. When you're happy you can fill the tank. Won't hurt to add a few more drops on the wick itself too. Tilt it so the wick is totally saturated and light it up a few more times.. any glowing? If it glows you need to keep messing with the coil, if not, trim the excess wire, add the top cap so the air hole is inline with the wick and facing you and vape away! Most important part is to make sure that the wick is bone dry when checking that the coil glows evenly. Ignore this at your own peril lol It is a brilliant atty when you get it right and a lot easier to wick than a silica atty as you dont necessarily need to worry about choking the wick.. I would lovw to show you a picture of my setuo but i sold my rsst to another forum member. It will all come to you and when it does you'll be

Some good advice there, a bit of prictice and you should be well away. If you can get a setup that works for you and then fine tune it each time you re wick it then it starts to get exciting. It's worth watching someone like Bishopheals on vapetv, when your ready, to try some more advanced stuff.

I think if you post the IMG code it will work (although it may not embed here, it should give a link).
