OMG Lilac Got to admit that I'm so glad my GG has the lockable safety switch (plus the vent holes). Even if I just lay it down for a minute, I've got into the habit of locking it in the off position.

I'm just a bit concerned as there are no vent holes in either the SD MK1 or MK11 I was hoping that the lanyard hole provided some ventilation but it doesn't seem to go right thru, as far as I can see with a torch. scylla

Dont be too concerned about any device that has a single 3.7v - 4.2 v battery. So far no one has managed to blow one up.
The devices that have had problems are multi battery devices i.e. using 2x 3v batteries.
The spring in the SD gives it short circuit protection, it will shrink/flatten if the atomiser or battery is faulty - that means no kaboom but your SD will be dead and need a refit.
Lilac you should be able to use the 16340 protected battery in the New MK1 as there is more room in the body.
Older versions of the MK1 can be used with protected batteries but care needs to be taken not to screw them closed too tight or the spring can be squashed .
imho there is no need to be vaping at 6v but if you must do your homework .
If you are new to vaping it is always best to stick with tried and tested products and the spares the seller recommends .
