OK, so I blame sleepyduck for this - afterall, it was him who sent me the Pluid
After discovering 2 things: - An aniseed based juice could be my all day vape (I've vaped nothing else for a week, now)
- Pluid 'melted' my drip tip
I got some anise & absinthe flavours, and am VERY happy with my alchemy. However, I realise that the carto I have will not last forever, and also it's a pain to keep filling it up. I have a few 'chivods' from fasttech, but am loathed to use one for fear of cracking or melting, so I believe I have 2 options: Fasttech do both - protank is definitely kanger, and it's probable, that the pyrex DCT is Smoktech. I'm on a VERY tight budget this month (car insurance due along with everything else) As I see it, I will continually need a supply of new cartos for the DCT, whereas I could rewick the protank, which is leaning me towards the protank. Would a protank give me as much flavour/vapour as the carto (not sure what sort, it came from sleepyduck with the pluid )? Any input, or alternatives would be much appreciated.

Sorry, fred The carto was a Boge standard resistance No probs mate - It was probably something I'd never have thought of trying, but now, I'm happy to vape it all day long - no thinking, "hmmmm, what shall I vape now, that didn't cut it!" Now I just need to know the 2 things: - I guess the flavour/vapour from a Boge SR carto will be the same with or without a tank?
- Will the flavour/vapour from a Protank be as good as a Boge SR carto?
Karma - I've read all the reviews/discussions on fastech, and somewhere, I think someone said they come from Smok, but don't have the branding. Also, the silver one apparently is a Smok one that has had SMOK photo-shopped out The AGR+ is a bit pricey if I don't get on with it. As for pre-punched cartos, is 1 '2.3mm' hole or 2 '1 mm' hole better for 50/50 (can vary to 80/20 though with experiments) juice? Got a metal drip tip, but if I order from FT, can chuck a few in the basket. Still waiting to hear about the protank though, as rewicking would be better for me over the long term. (If I don't spend anything this week, I'll break even on Sunday ) Thanks you two, for your help so far, and extra thanks to sleepy for the pluid

fred - I must admit I'm well impressed with the flavour I get from my Protank so far. And it's so easy to clean if you need to, a quick rinse under the tap or soak in warm water, a dry inside and out, refill and go. Another bonus I think is the ease with which they can be recoiled; my vaping mate did his first recoil on a PT head this afternoon, and it came out at 1.8ohm first time ever! There is plenty of room to work in, and the main 'body' is wide enough to give some leeway with wraps spaced out a bit. I have also used DCTs and with Boge SR cartos, I get about 5-6 days form each carto. They can be a bit messy to fill, and the flavour is a bit more muted IMHO. Hope this helps! Andy

Out of the two, the Protank would get my vote Fred . . . for the type of flavours I enjoy vaping, it's the better of the two for me. The Protank Heads are pretty reasonable on FT if that's where you end up purchasing from: www.fasttech.com/products/1403601A pack of them would give you a few heads to work with and have as back ups.

I have 4 of the pyrex dct's, dont't think they are genuine smok but they give really good vapour and flavour, also got a genuine protank or 2. Prize goes to the dct's but only just when every thing is taken into consideration it wins on flavour/vape but the protank is very easy to re wick and coil, of course all is subjective. Perhaps try one of each with the same liquid and come to your own conclusion!

A pyrex DCT won't dictate the flavour or the vapour production, that's dependant on the carto you put into it lol

Carto tank vs Protank.
No contest. Carto tank by miles.
Cartos £1 each (£5 for 5) and get days and days out of them. More expensive? yes, obviously if you are re-wicking the Protank.
If my house was raided tonight by e-cig shiny thieves, I doubt I'd even miss the Protank.
