I wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I have been vapeing the same mystic juice RY4 and coffee mixed, 70VG 30PG, 18mg (from 24mg 4weeks ago) since I started vaping 6 months ago. On the odd occasions i have vanilla custard and banana, 50/50, Crystal. Now for the past 11 days I have had a really sore mouth with blisters and swelling inside. I've never had a problem before. It eases off over night. I have my first vape around 6.30am then a chain vape for 20 minutes on the way to work. Nothing again util 10.30 for a coffee and vape, not chain vaping though. I drink lots of water throughout the morning but by 12 midday my mouth is so sore I can't eat my lunch and have to drink through a straw. At home in the evening I'll have tea and relaxing vape but the soreness and swelling remain. Is it possible to develop an allergy to something so suddenly? I've thought if it could be anything else like change of diet, toothpaste ect but it's exactly the same. i'd be so grateful for any help and suggestions here before I go running off to the doctors. ???

Sounds like a pg intolerance. You could try a high vg liquid and see if this stops the problem. AS it say on the box if the symptoms persist go to the doctor. All the best, Paul.

Hi welshwestie I'm no expert but it seems strange that you would have suddenly developed an allergy to the juice. Have you recently changed anything about your set up - are you using a new drip tip, or a new clearo, or a different type of wick, or whatever?

I've had this happen in the past. Go for a thicker juice with a heavier vg/pg ratio, 60/40 0r 70/30, and if you're using clearos, use a bottom coil, the juice isn't as hot.

I'd also think you've maybe developed a sensitivity to PG Welshie . . . I did after 18 months of vaping very happily with it. Antihistamines work for some they didn't for me, but having as high a VG content as possible in my eliquid keeps it under control. There are some Vendors who you can chose the ratio of eliquid with, Vapology is one: www.vapology.co.uk/4-x-10ml-tailor-made-e-liquid-pick-n-mix-2513-p.asp

Thank you all so much. I've just ordered some juice from Vapology 10PG 90VG, I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. I did change the wick a few weeks ago from silica to cotton but couldn't get on with it so changed back, other than that I'm still using my Vamo with Vivi Nova and Pro tank. Hmmmm Just had a thought that the wick I'm using now is some I had given to me and not from where I usually buy mine from and I've used it for the last 2 weeks,I'll re do the heads now with my usual wick. It's both silica but just maybe something in the other that doesn't agree with me, anything is worth a try. Thank you all again.

Hi Mixers. I recently also find I have a sore throat, dry mouth, after vaping. Usual mixes and juices no changes recently. All my mixes are 70/30 PG/VG mixes. I think I am reacting to the PG. Can I add more VG to these mixes and hence increase VG content to above 40/60 PG/VG.or even 30/70 PG/VG. My nic base is also PG, can I still use it in my mixes. ??? Thanks in advance. jeffc

Thanks in advance. jeffc Hi jeffc To change 30ml of 70pg/30vg to 70vg/30pg you'd need to add 40ml of pure VG, and if you're adding zero nic VG it would seriously dilute both the flavour and the strength of your juice (for instance, 30ml of 18mg would become 70ml of 7.7mg). It might be better to mix it with a flavoured juice with a high VG content to even out the PG/VG ratio. Hope this helps.

Hi dnglos. Many thanks for your advice, I shall mix up some with high VG content and add it to my existing mixes. For future mixes with PG base NIC I have in stock, just use juice calculator and increase my VG content ??

If you are mixing jeffc then make up some juice using only VG (no PG) as a dilutant and see how it goes. When I have a sore throat PG makes it worse, and that works for me, although I have PG-based nic. But with PG-based nic the VG % never gets that high. If you have 52% base then that is particularly true and you might like to buy some VG-based. (If you got a litre of 72% from the US then you probably won't want to buy any more, but at least you can get a higher VG % juice)

That should work, although I think you're going to need to get some VG base liquid (as opposed to adding zero nic VG). If you're having any problems with the calculations just let me know and I'll do my best to help

You'll certainly need to get some VG base as Giles and Dnglos have said Jeff . . . the vast majority of the concentrates we use are suspended in PG, so there's only so far you can go getting a VG heavy mix if you don't.
