Anyway Perpetua and xs2man, if either of you wants to send me a SID I can have a look and see if the tubes can be separated, non destructively of course.

It should also be possible if the tube wall is thick enough for me to bore it out by 0.25mm to allow a protected battery to fit.

Could i possibly be cheeky and perhaps take you up on your Vamo Maintenace Service.

I have a similarish problem with mine

Although on mine the fire button feels a little loose.

Ratlles a lot if the Vamo is shaken and will not fire up/and i get no flashing light when connecting the battery.

+ and - buttons work fine and allow me to scroll through the options.

I may well bring mine to Vapefest if that's ok with you, part of the problem with me is that I don't have much grip in my hands for these sorts of jobs . . . Ckc got her HC one apart without issues.

We may have to set you up with a little ' modding ' table by the sound of it!

Absolutely whufc71, Sounds like a crushed tactile switch. They should be good for 5.000+ clicks but some fail earlier, some later.

I won't have any of the correct switches in until after Vapefest sometime but you are more than welcome to send it.

Hehe, Perpetua feel free to grab me at Vapefest, I won't be bringing repair kit with me as I am hitching a ride with @spikeyfridge and not taking my truck.

But I am more than happy to have a look and/or take items away for repair at base.

It's probably best to get hold of me whilst the sun is up as I have plans for the evening which involve alcohol, hugs, declarations of love and possibly a coma

raid2506 - thanks for your kind offer, I may well take you up on that. I now feel scared to use the beast in case it happens again, and I'm sure a sharp weighty tap on the nearest piece of furniture doesn't do it much good.
zeldamum - from an aesthetic point of view I have to agree with Perpetua here, I'm not a fan of the SVD's looks either. However, I may pop in sometime this week to have a quick heft and see what I think before writing it off altogether.
That leaves me with limited room to manoeuvre I know, but I have been looking at the SID HERE or a Lavatube HERE, although I would if possible like to buy it without batteries and charger.
Ho-hum, I'll have to see what the family budget is like and take it from there!

zeldamum - I think I'm going to send it to Raid to have a look at first, before consigning it to the emergency spares box. I have my old Vamo to use in the meantime, and hopefully should get the new one back before I go on holiday in the last week of August. Thanks for the kind offer though
