Have lurked here for ages and you all seem so friendly that I have finally plucked up the courage to join. I'm not as young as I used to be and had been smoking for over 40 years, but since taking up vaping have not had a cigarette for six weeks!
I took advice from here and bought the Riva kit from VapeEscape. Rapidly discovered that cartomizers aren't for me, and am currently using the Vision Nano clearos, which are fine. The thing is, I've tried various liquids and am struggling a bit. Predictably, I've found that I don't like tobacco flavours, apart from RY4, which I'm alternating with Griz's Arctic Lemon. But the main issue is that I seem to be sensitive to PG, as some flavours really dehydrate and make my throat tickle - and the muscles in my legs are complaining! I've just ordered some 50/50 at a lower nic level, but if I have to go to a really VG-heavy mix what would be the best clearo to cope without clogging too quickly? I prefer bottom coils, and don't want to get into building my own heads. And should I consider mixing my own liquids?

Hi missrenata, welcome to aaec. Well done on no stinkies. I have not used vg thick juices but i would say that a bottom coil like the Evod, Mini Pro Tank, Mini Davide would be ok as the juice is on the wicks all the time. Heads are cheap. Mixing your own would give you the most flexibility in your juices but there are a few vendors that you can tailor make your juice and then mix it and send it out to you.

missrenataI'm wondering if there are many who got the riva kit who do like the cartos, and whether we should still be recommending it rather than something with 2 clearos instead of the cartos. I suppose at least it makes it easier to try lots of juices. Forgot to say - evods are good. The obvious alternative is a mini protank (which I don't have, but has good reviews) which is pretty, lets you see the juice level more easily, but is more expensive. If you find that VG juices are clogging your attys too much, try diluting with about 10% vodka.

Hi I use 100% vg liquids in my iClear16s and never have a spot of bother with them Really cheap from here with free shipping ebnferro.com/onderdelen-1/clearomizer/innokinI find the 1.5ohm ones do burn my liquid, but the 2.0ohm ones are spot on. They might look like other clearos, but they are very different in performance, the spare replaceable heads are also cheap from that website, but you don't need them often, they tend to go on for ages I am a big DV fan and they will premix in 100%vg for you or sell you the concentrates, why not try a few premixed and if you like them take the plunge and mix your own, it isn't hard if you start off with single flavours in the beginning. With DV flavours I always start at 10% flavour, and then if necessary adjust to taste. www.decadent-vapours.com/en/408-e-liquidsEdit, just reread your post about liking bottom coils (thought you said you didn't like them, never said I was smart), I use evods and a mini davide and both have 0 problems with heavy vg liquid

In regards to the dry mouth/tickly throat I found that I can't stand VG heavy liquids (70/30 pg/vg is about as far as I can go) as they feel like they coat the back of my throat, but when I first started vaping the PG heavy juices I was getting a very dry throat, muscle aches similarly in my legs. But increasing the amount of water I drank per day helped a lot and after about 2 months my body just got used to the PG and drinking more water is always a good thing.
Now 1 year on my fitness levels have doubled and my awful smokers cough and getting out of breath easily have completely disappeared.
Hope you find something that suits you and manage to stay of the stinkies =D

Sadie does the riva kit with no cartos but with 2 bottles of 5ml juice instead. www.ukecigcabin.com/RIVA_1100_Deluxe_Kits/cat1893785_1878321.aspx

Thank you all! I have tried a couple of the DV liquids at 50/50 and 11mg. The Sherbet Lemon is quite nice but I really didn't like the Cherry Ice - too medicinal for me. The thing I'm most concerned about is the muscle problem. If I can't find a way round it I'll have to stop vaping, which obviously I don't want as it has worked for me. I will try to drink more water, which is not easy for someone my age as we weren't brought up with a water bottle always to hand. Luckily I'm retired and only vape at home so the loo is handy. Oh, the joys of childbirth, menopause, radiotherapy and a slightly wonky pelvic floor!

Welcome to you Missrenata. I use VG heavy liquids ( which i mix myself ) as I'm PG sensitive as well . . . I don't have any issues wicking or clogging unless it's something that has a lot of sweetener in, our current clearo's are much better able coping with thicker liquids than they were in the earlier days of vaping.

Hiya and welcome. If you are after BCC clarimisors, then I agree that currently Evods are the thing. Depending on what batts you are using, I would suggest staying with the standard resistance coils at the moment and see how you get on. I have tried various combinations during my time vaping and readily confess to being a shineyitus victim. icon_shoppingm About the dry mouth syndrome, just increase your fluid intake, it will pass (however as with all things medical, if in doubt seek medical advice) Good place for Evods ATM www.ukecigcabin.com/category/kanger%20evod%20range Dont forget your discont code 5% off from this forum
