I stopped smoking 5 months ago. Never in my life did I think I could. And anyone that knew me felt the same. To be honest I never wanted to. I just loved a smoke and I'd no real desire to stop.
But vaping made it so easy. I gradually stopped. It sort of sneaked up on me. I was doing both until one night i lit a cigarette and it tasted awful. Like licking an ash tray. Yuk!!! Finally I knew I could stop smoking.
But to me vaping is as satisfying as smoking ever was only it taste so much nicer. Plus I can do it at home anywhere I like instead of out the back in the rain!! And most important it won't kill me or others around me either. Both my parents died from cancer. And I know they'd be so proud that I stopped smoking.
The only downside to vaping is I spend more on it than I did on cigarettes. I know I'm not alone on that lol. But to me its a hobbyl. Albeit an expensive one. But no matter how much I spend I'm still better off!!!

That's great to hear xtc263 and don't worry the cost's will come down once you stop buying shiny things Apart from hardware my average monthly spend is £20 now compared to the £300+ I spent on smoking. I mix my own juice as do many others and buy the occasional bottle ready mixed.

I agree with raid, the last 2 months have been pretty cheap vape wise as we have mods and batteries etc so only had to buy a few cheapy bits and mixing stuff. Give it time and it will come down.

Thanks guys I hope the costs do come down. Or I learn some self control lol. I can't help myself at the minute. Every new tank or nice mod that comes out I have to fight myself not to buy it. Nearly every day there's some sort of vape mail comin through the door. I lose track sometimes lol. And my trolley in fasttech just keeps growing. Damn u fasttech!!!

Good part XTC is that what ever you buy in equipment,is not going to be the same value in worth as what you would have bought turned to ash and butts and thrown in bin so think £200 of re saleable vape gear to help others or £200 of ash and butts a month going in the bin....it's way i look at it lol As Raid says eventually you will slow down, first few months its like a kid in a sweet shop...making your own juice does reduce costs plus if you look at it what you save in juice and not buying fags once a month you could buy a new toy lol Will agree so far i have resisted on Fasttech damn that Robby[point hope is ok ] but that Ithaka clone and Oddy are very tempting, like most i know my limits and wont pay silly money for equipment cloned or Original Like most tried everything to give up failed, research on ecigs mg amount and finding this forum Helped a great deal ,plus if you look at near on all other forums this is more of a family orientated one, others can be like sixth forum school matter of fact

Great story, like you I didn't really want to stop and was more of a case of having to.
I imagine you are enjoying spending the money on your new hobby and good for you. I have got my monthly spend down to £35 a month instead of spending £270 a month on analogs. I imagine your spending habit will slow down or if not, and you can afford it, who cares at least you are free from the slavery of analogs.

I got into a habit of reading things and people saying how good they where so I had to get them to see. Some of them where good (Siffy) black cat. Iclear 30 lol I now own a vamo and a Sid and I love them so much like my children. However after a big collection of different types of carts and tanks I have reached the point where I'm happy and now the savings come in I only have to buy juice. But I would never go back to the stinkies I feel so better and don't even feel like a stinkie anymore

After smoking since the age of 15 for 43 years (30 a day at the end), I got the news that I had mild COPD. The doc told me that if I stopped smoking it would not get any better but would not get any worse. I stopped there and then and stuck at it for almost 5 years. However there wasn't a single day during those 5 years that I didn't long for a smoke! One particularly stressful day I just couldn't stick it any longer but rather than undo all the sheer hard work and willpower that I had put into quitting, I bought a disposable e-lite ecig and I loved it. That was the start of my journey into vaping and I love everything about it!

I'm down to about £30 quid a month now, in the beginning I just had to have everything!!!! Probably spent over £450 in the first four months!! Still well in credit compared to smoking though. I'm now perfectly happy with an evic on a bod telescopic body with the trusty vivi's and royal vapours RY4M. I feel great and actually find it embarrassing to think I smelt like them! Those people who come inside after a smoke, they stink! I love it and am really lucky I found this place to get me off to a good start. Be about eight months now after 25 plus years smoking. Converted a boat load of people on the way as well so win win win!!! Well done you, glad your enjoying your vape
