Ok so I'm going down the lazy mans mixing route, I'm thinking if I get 100ml of vpg 18mg from LTecigs www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=61_84&product_id=386And mix it using 10% flavour it should turn out at around 16mg right? Also for making a cherry menthol I was thinking around 6% cherry/4%menthol would this work or is menthol usually strong enough that I would need less menthol to avoid overpowering the cherry?

Using the above example could someone help me with the maths. I am not very good at maths, sadly, and I am just not getting how adding 10% of flavours takes 18mg to 16mg. Would somebody just try and talk me through the maths if you get time.

siffy 10% of 18 is 1.8, so 18 minus 1.8 = 16.2

Lol siffyOok, what if you had 18mg base and you wanted to add 20% flavouring? What mg of finished liquid would you have? BTW, I don't like apples, much prefer chocolate

BTW, I don't like apples, much prefer chocolate Ok so...... 10% is 1.8 so if I double that it's 3.2 So 18mg minus 3.2 = 14.8 nic strength. I'll bring you a bar of chocolate instead...lol If I'm right I think this is where I'm getting confused on the 50/50 including nic link you sent me. So would that mean my 18mg would go down to 14.8mg. I have only been on 18mg for two weeks you see. I know I'm asking lots of questions but I just want to understand what I'm doing before I make a purchase and start. Might I be better buying the nic, pg and vg seperate then I get a full 18mg strength, or am I barking up the wrong tree here?

Close double is 3.6 so it would go down to 14.4mg. They sell 26mg base if you want to get it down to 18mg instead. Or you can just buy the 54mg pg base and some VG/PG to dilute using the ejuice me up calculator. The mixes I have made really are a lazy way of mixing and are not 100% accurate.
The base is 50/50 and once you add 10% flavour you end up with a 60/40 pg/vg mix

well done siffyIt's up to you what you buy, whatever you think you'll find easier. You can buy pre mixed at 24mg, so with 20% of flavour would take it down to 19.2 mg. But, if you were using a strong flavour at only around 3% with 18mg base your finished juice would be around 17.5 mg Even if I didn't buy pre mixed base now I would mix my base ready to just add flavours. I just find it easier that way. Others find it easier to start from scratch each time using an e-juice calculator. Apart from being careful around children and animals and mopping up spills, there is no one right way to mix!

Ooops, your right jordan. But, for mixing for my own use I use 'near enough' as the correct answer

If it doesn't give me a headache, it's fine. If I don't feel the need to stab someone with a blunt spoon it's fine. Pretty much the parameters for whether the nicotine strength is too high/low In regards to mixing I'm a complete novice at this but I did mix using 54mg nicotine this weekend when I had an alchemist session with a friend and the e juice me up calculator made it extremely easy to do compared to my first attempts with strong base which turned out tasting rancid. And my friend is still alive, apparently I did a good job with his mixes using the strong base =p Tried a few of my lazy mixes and some need a bit more steeping but they weren't too bad either

Thank you very much Karma and jordan. It's best I check my understanding before I rush in isn't it? I must be getting on yer nerves by now, sorry. So if I am a 70/30 pg/vg vaper I get a bit confused as to which nic base I would be best to use pg or vg nic base? I can't get the ejuice calculator as I have no pc you see, just a pad. So does that programme ask you if your nic base is pg or vg based? Does that effect everything depending on which it is? I have got an POTV calculator but am not sure where or if it asks pg or vg based nic you see.
