Well, I don't know, Nicky it sometimes seems as if no matter how many times we say it here, some people just WILL insist on beating themselves up about every time they have a 'real' ciggie!! Please don't - you've made good progress, really you have and you're fully entitled to be pleased about that progress, not wracked with guilt. Honestly - just let the changeover happen at it's own pace. This is a major life-change for most smokers and while some make the swap to vaping literally overnight, for many (if not most) of us it took quite a bit longer. In my own case, I continued to have the occasional 'real one' for many, many months; we're talking like one or two a month here. But compared to 30 a day, EVERY DAY, for over 30 years - so what?? In the end I realised that actually not only was I not enjoying these occasional ones very much (shooting upstairs to clean my teeth afterwards was a bit of a giveaway) but the very last one I had - actually I hated it!! That stage could be quite a distance away for you, or maybe you'll find a liquid you truly adore and it might be next week. But in the meantime, be gentle with yourself!! Focus on all the ones you haven't smoked, not the few you have. You're doing fine, and if you have the occasional day when it just doesn't quite go as you hoped, well, these things happen. E-cigs just provide you with more choices about how to cope with these situations - they don't come with a list of rules and regulations attached; revel in your new choices and give yourself a pat on the back for what you have achieved so far. You've earnt it - really you have. tetsab, Thanks for that, i suppose whats get me is i decided not to buy any this week, just got hubby his so now i am about to run out of what i had and will no doubt at some point have to go and buy them which i had really hopes not to have to do. But hey like you say it takes time.

You mustn't beat yourself up over this Nicky, you really musn't - it's not a competition or contest of any sort . . . far better you switch at a pace that suits you, rather than someone else. It's bound to take time to find a vaping combination that works for you. And, if you're having a few ciggies in 6 months time, so what - that's no biggie really.

Nicky you really are doing very well, so as everyone else is saying stop feeling guilty It took me over a month to be anolog free, i was on about 16 a day, my husband hasn't had an anolog since the first day he started vaping. Everyone is different and you really need to do it at your own pace with no pressure, hopefully you will find a juice that you love. Keep with it Nicky and celebrate the anologs your not having rather than feeling guilty about the ones you are Hope your feeling better x

You may have a point there bel, i can't say i "love" any of the juices, and maybe that is part of the problem, i still prefer the taste of my silk cut 100 fags, but i realise i'm not going to find a juice that tastes just like them, i suppose after smoking for so many years it's killed my taste buds lol.
And it seems everyone else loves vaping, i've not read yet of anyone not getting along with it or failing and going back to the cigs full time so i am determined to persevere with it because i must say even though i have a bad chest at the moment, it's not as bad as it would have been if i had just been smokiing all the time rather than having a few fags a day and mostly vaping.

You're right it's not a competition, hubby has said though if i manage to pack in he will then , which would be good as he is a heavy smoker and i do worry about him..............not to mention i could have a nice clean ciggie free house lol.

Nicky, has your hubby tried your e-cig? once or twice, wasn't very impressed with the taste, he reckons he can just give up when i do !! I'm looking at different flavours and have found a couple on paradise vapes, but not sure about the pg / vg/or 50/50, what is the difference? Prefer flavour to actual throat hit.

If you prefer flavour, go for 50/50 Nicky or VG heavy. The PG is more relative to throat hit.

Bel, I used to smoke Silk Cut and quite liked Liberty Flight's Silk Blend although I found it a tad harsh and found James' Dunhill smoother and more to my taste when I liked tobacco flavours. www.libertyflights.co.uk/product.asp?id=74paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/index.php/cName/ejuice-tobaccoJames' Benson Hedges is very close to B&H IMO.

I'm feeling much better bel, thank you for asking, i have to say i'm struggling a little bit with the vaping, i am still smoking my analogues can't seem to just give them up, although i do enjoy vaping and love the spearmint flavour i still "prefer" the fags.
But............i'm trying not to worry about as it is quite true to be pleased with the ones i havent smoked rather the ones i am, as i am still smoking a lot less than i used to.
i am going away tonight an all my hubby's family smoke like troopers so i have some fags but ive also got all my vaping kit etc with me so i shall carry on.

Even if you don't switch completely Nicky, it's not the end of the world, it really isn't. More important to actually enjoy the time you do spend vaping is my thinking . . . have a good break with the family.

That's exactly what I'm doing Nicky, count the ones you arent somking. I've also found it helps me to tell myself that I am still smoking, I just got with the 21st century and went digital I think if I didnt have that thought in the back of my mind then I wouldnt of been half as pleased with myself as I am atm. I'm also finding the routine ones the hardest to break, it seems I automatically reach for the packet first thing and have it lit before I realise I should of vaped instead fo smoked. And during the day I've had to correct myself a few times as i reach for the pack instead of the vape. I've found that if I deny myself then it makes it harder, I havent physically said to myself "right today I'm only having 5 ciggys" cos I'm a stobborn sod even with myself lol and I always want what I can't have. Instead I've just taken it one ciggy at a time. So remember Nicky, you still smoke you just went digital If you wanna have a noob to noob chat anytime then just pm me and we can sort somethign out.
