Hello and *welcome*from a newbie I've been cig free for 30 days thanks to vaping.I can't give advice on all the equipment or array of e liquids as I'm still working it out.My two pennies worth is just find an ego kit at a price you feel is comfortable and just try it.I've been smoking over 20 years and my partner over 30 and we were on about 30 cigs a day.We were sceptical but from the moment the e cigs arrived we haven't had a real ciggie!I tried patches, gum, cold turkey, nic inhalor nothing worked vaping does work.My partner has the will power of an gnat he's got high bp and had 1 heart attack already and still smoked.Liquid wise don't buy a large amount of one flavour I bought tobacco and hated it.The weird thing is vaping replaced smoking but the whole smell/taste of tobacco wasn't good and I'm not sure what you will need but 18 mg worked fine for me.I'm now smoking flippin bananas through a strange electronic device and enjoying it!!!!Take a leap Debbie don't spend to much, you can upgrade with the cash you save if its for you.I've got a pretty jar full of notes that keeps on building up and an app to tell me how many days I've been cig free and how much money I've saved(which is in the jar!).Anyway I'm certainly not an expert but just try it as like me you only have a couple of ££s to lose if it isn't for you but if it is you can go mad and buy all sorts of batteries and tanks .Good luck on your journey xx Brilliant post stellar24

BigJim......it is not the amount of money as such, I just dont want to spend loads on a kit that wont suit my needs, then I go ahead and buy another and another until I have the right set up...better to buy the one that suits me straight away. /// Its not that I am thick, but I know some things in my life just require an easy simple item that does its job Fair play - exactly my reasoning when I chose my first kit, the Mini Protank kit for £20. It's as good a quality tank as you're going to get, with a simple (but simple is all I need) battery to go with it, and a supply of 5x extra atomiser heads which will easily last me 3 or 4 months - Job done. Sure I picked up a couple extra batteries later on so I can use one for work, then switch to one for home and a bigger one for all-day weekends, etc.. but the essentials of the kit were chosen along exactly the same criteria as you outline above.

Thankyou, I have looked at all of those links, the Riva 1100 kit seems a better option for me out of the 2. I have also decided that the protanks/pyrex ones are deffo not for me, I would drop them/break them at a rate of knots lol......The more throw away Clearomizers seem my better option and trust me far more economical in the long run, price is lower to start with, less likely I will break them, steering away from certain flavours that crack these tanks is no problem for me. Deffo using Joose Juice, they seem a great company to deal with and have loads of choices. The Paradievapeuk link is fantastic thank you again Still doing some more research into the Riva kit....it does seem a little more pricey than some others......Is it worth the extra money? Hubby has now decided to do this with me...so the cost would be waaaayyyy over what we spend on stinkies, yes ok the health side counts far more than any amount of money but we are looking at spending at least 3 months worth of smoking money in one hit

Debbie13 the main advantage of the Riva 1100 kit is it's battery life. The higher the mAh of the battery, the longer it lasts between charges & the less often you have to charge a battery the longer it will last before it needs completely replacing. I bought a couple of those Riva kits for my next door neighbours over a year ago & the batteries are still going strong. The kit gives you cartomisers as well as the clearomiser to try. I know lots of folks have moved on from the cartomisers, but I still prefer the draw on them - plus they never leak However, you can use just about anything else with the Riva kit - all other types of clearos tanks will fit it, if you want to try something else iat a later date. If the worst comes to the worst & you really don't get on with anything you buy, you can always sell/swap it in our classifieds board

Debbie13 you don't just have to give up ciggies and switch to vaping overnight. Buy one of the kits Chrissie has linked to and try it out and see if it will suit you and hubby, use it as a way of cutting down If you then feel that it's the right thing for you both you can buy another kit so as you always both have a fresh battery

Thank you for that, I think I over think things and run before I can walk, trying to understand all the parts and mods before even plumping for a kit really is not the way to go it seems lol. I will be happy with a basic easy to understand, easy to maintain kit. The only thing I am sure of is that I need at least 2 batteries, although I am at home for the most part so charging isnt an issue. I think I will take that advice onboard tho about upgrading as things need replacing, seems the obvious choice for a clueless newbie such as myself, and all the while I am hovering before the plunge of a purchase I am still smoking the stinkies ( not a good thing ) I do not care what it looks like ( meaning it does not need to resemble a cig ) as long as its not pink or some silly girly colour...not my style, it certainly does not need to be an all singing all dancing kind of thing. The easier the better for me, just a basic piece of kit that I can fill with my favoured juice and away we go.... Oh debbie you will never get into the jess fan club with statements like that! I didn't get a notie for this! But oi...... @freefromsmoking (I so wanted to put FFS! ) I don't have any pink Darn, just remembered.....I have a pink swirly light up crystal batt, although that doesn't have too much time left on this planet, as it's dying & I did buy one pink Evod, but it's still in its wrapper, as I'm one of the rare folk that aren't keen on Evods. So, I have purple & blue & black/silver crystal, oh & a rainbow en route. I just like a bit of colour, that's all!

Ok hubby involved in this and we decided to still go with the Ego CE4 kit, 2 of everything...also ordered an Evod bcc with 2 extra coils, an extra wall charger and 4 juice tasters, once we have those and are happy with it we will be looking at the Evod bcc tanks all the time, have read on here ( thank you ) and on the internet that they really are great and totally the better option over the CE4 tanks. Double checked all is compatible ( easy once you know how lol ) I have decided that the tobacco tasting juices maybe are not a great option, have gone for Apple, Soft Mint, Strawberries and Cream and Vanilla....all acceptable tastes ( I hope ) all apart from one are 18 nic, other 1 is 24 nic....gone for 50/50 on PG/VG.....oh my lord.....I really thought it would take an age to take it all in but for some reason once the decisions were made it all made perfect sense ....I do love a " Penny Drops " moment It was decided that if we both take to it easy enough we shall then really get our teeth into it and look at all the bits, kits, mods etc and change it our different likes. That way not much money shall be wasted if it goes t*ts up Thank you to all of you, I have taken on board every single bit of advice you have taken your time to give me.....I hope to be vaping by the end of the week.....one ciggie at a time is my plan........day 1 I shall aim for every 2nd one being a vape...you never now I could be amongst the hundreds who never look back, the very thought of being a non rollie smoker by next week is real exciting Right now I can really take my time on the forum and digest all the other things that are here to be enjoyed

Well done for biting the bullet Debbie . . . it is a commitment, but you've chosen some excellent kit there. Any questions when you receive it, then ask away.

Well done, Debbie & you might be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to actually forget about ciggies. I know I was & I think most of the forum members would say the same. Good luck & happy vaping to you both, once all your kit arrives.

Debbie13 - like you and your OH, I initially got a batery and eGo CE4 disposable in order to cut down my tobacco consumption during the day. 11 and a half months later, and I've only smoked about 1.5 cigarettes, and loathed every mouthful of smoke in them too. I think you will will be pleasantly surprised by the ease with which you will be able to switch to vaping your nicotine, rather than smoking it. My advice would be to vape until the craving for a cigarette is overpowering, and you might find that with the juices that you have at a fairly high nic level, that moment will not come. If it does, don't panic - think about all the fags you haven't smoked, rather than the odd one you might have. I must be honest here - I was on holiday last week, and my wife is an evening smoker, having about 4 a day. She retired before my bottle of wine was finished, and sitting on the decking outside our accommodation, I thought "silly thing, she's left her cigarettes and lighter here - I'll just have the one". I duly lit up, had about 5 drags, and popped it into the beer bottle of water she was using for her butts. Tasted pretty unpleasant, and I didn't get the satisfaction from it that I thought I would. Three fags in almost a year - a result, I would say!! Best of luck, and do keep us posted on your successes, and ask if you have any problems, we all know what's it's like and will help you if we possibly can!
