We have a 2.0 tdci 13 plate Astra sri, in metallic black Drove off the forecourt on 21st June ewith 19 miles on it. As of yesterday iI think it was up at 2270. Sadly it isn't actually 'ours' it's a mobility car for my daughter, it just makes life so much easier what with trips to great Ormond street regularly. It's lush!!!

A silly little Ford Ka reg 51 only 58K on the clock.
Easy to drive for my daughter unless she gets lost and then hits wall whilst trying to find which lane she is meant to be going down.

My motto with cars is that if it ain't broke, then don't fix it.
My trusty transport is a red 1998 v70 estate. 2.5 20v. 7 seats, full leather etc. 130k and has plenty of life left in it..
Average of 35-40mpg and goes exceptionally well for a 15yr old two ton car..
Will be getting myself a nissan pathfinder next year to suit my fishing a bit better but my trusty volvo will do until then Tease-smiley

Hi@xs2man, I like the Dacia and would have gone for the top of the range Laureate, but it has electric rear windows and from experience of these on a Scenic we have, the dogs tend to stand on the window switch and open the windows. We had a nasty experience while driving down the motorway, when I felt a bit of a chill on the back of my head, looked in the side view mirror and saw the dog with the upper part of his body out the rear window. We were doing 70mph.
With the Dacia, you only have to buy what you want. All other manufacturers sell you what their designers think you might want and so you can be paying a lot of money for things you will never use.
We have had a Range Rover Disco, never again. Spares are a ridiculous price! With the Dacia I have a 7 year warranty. It is comfortable to drive and living where we do, with its 4 wheel drive and traction control, I feel that no matter what the weather brings, we will always be able to get where we want to go.
The gears do take a bit of getting used to. 6 forward but 1st gear is only for when you are off road and in 4X4 mode. During the summer I keep it locked in 2 wheel drive. During the winter I will keep it in automatic wheel drive and I will only lock it in 4 wheel drive if I am towing the caravan out of a muddy field.
The downside of the Dacia is the waiting time. I had to wait 4 months for mine.
However, actions speak louder than words and by this time next year the wife's Scenic will be gone and we will buy another Dacia for her!!!!!

I've a elderly Ford Focus, but as I don't drive any great distance my mileage is under 45,000. Costs me a fortune to run anyway as being 2 litre I'm lucky to get 20miles to the gallon with the type of driving I do and road tax is £260 a year. But it does me and the dog, his area is the tidiest bit of the car as I'm a complete trollop when it comes to car cleaning. At least it doesn't smell like an old ashtray now. I shan't be posting pictures needless to say. Ever thought of downsizing? For what driving you do why own a 2 Litre and pay £260 in tax? Thats double what I pay! We could get you a nice Corsa, Lower it, Put a Loud exhaust on it, Some xenon lights and a loud music system! You'd be the coolest Oldie on the street!

I've thought about it on several occasions Hazza, even test drove a Corsa . . . unfortunately I've always had pretty nippy cars. My car before was a Fiat Punto Turbo, the acceleration on it was brilliant. Do like my bit of welly, so I've resigned myself for the moment to being a slightly impoverished, but with a quickish car Oldie.

I'm trying to resist going a bit bonkers with cars like I did in the past. I went through all the French hothatches and modified them. Then went through the Jap turbo stuff and modified them. Then had a diesel and although economical it was deadly dull so went middle of the road normally aspirated bigger engine. Feeling the need for boost again but with a three year old and another imminent I need 4 doors. Next car might have to be a 250 saab 95 aero.

I drive a 2001 peugeot 306 hdi. I've remapped it, got a turbo back ss exhaust for flow not noise I hasten to add. Egr is blanked off. Upgraded front brakes to 283mm disks from a gti6. She's pretty quick and surprises people. 120k starts first time every time. Boosting at 18psi, standard is 12psi and i've only had engine above 80 degrees once which I forced to check something. Only niggle is French electrics and french cars rattle off the production line otherwise they're rejected.
Also a 56 plate 307 hdi 7 seater which I'm soon to part company with. It's very practical, thats all I can say about that.

I'd love to mod my car, But my insurers wouldn't like that! I'd probs do some minor mods, but enough to annoy em!

Apart from tyres, a couple of exhausts in that time it has never let me down. Oh, apart from when I had to abandon it for 6 months one winter, when I was working away, but even then a new battery sorted that. Nearly burnt it out a few years ago, when I lit a fag, threw my lighter on to the passenger seat, and a few minutes later noticed flames shooting out of the seat! Lighter was still firing a flame into the seat... that was scary until I found somewhere to pull in to douse the fire. Don't do many miles now, so it will probably see me out!

I drive a battered and bashed 04, Skoda 1.9 TDI Estate. I love it, I use the boot as extra storage space. I do get some funny looks if people see what's in there! If Mr K isn't looking I drive a Skoda Fabia VRSi, but dog isn't allowed in there

I'll try once more............ I sold this a month ago............. & replaced it with this................... I don't like change.................... Done my bit with all the "passion wagons", although a double mattress fits perfect in the back of this one.............. Had to sell the top one, as the ashtray was full up with sweet wrappers............
