Hi peeps,
So sat her doing some re coiling, iv'e done my nova heads, iv'e re done my Igo dripper so just the RSST to go.
First time I coiled it i just did 3mm silica straight down into the tank with enough sticking out to coil. This worked ok but could not keep up with my vaping so i am thinking on a few options here but would like some advice on each.
1. A u wick setup down the fill hole and wick hole. I did this on an aga s and worked a treat but the holes are a lot further apart on the RSST? 2. 2mm wick doubled up and pushed through the wick hole and left looped above the coil. 3. Try and jam 3mm wick doubled up through the wick hole.
I have 1mm, 2mm and 3mm silica wick to hand.
Thanks in advance.
Ross.

Roscopecotrain The RSST is a `clone` of the AC 9 atty, and as such is primarily designed to work as a `genesis` atty. Looking at your photo, you will see that the LH hole in the top cap has a isolater ring fitted. This is to allow the usage of a stainless steel mesh rolled wick, or lately the usage of s/s cable, thus eliminating the dreaded hot spots and shorts occuring. By usage of either of these wicks, you will get better performance out of the RSST, and especially on tobacco based juices better flavour. Watch the many vids available and try it, you will then after using either method, never go back to silica in this atty IMHO. Good luck, safe vaping to you both.

Gennys being for tobacco flavours is a myth, I love them and hate tobacco tastes. I think it comes from the Tobacco flavours being more forgiving to the burnt flavours you can get when you are learning to set them up. Once you can coil a wick that isn't prone to hotspots, then you can vape anything you like in them.

+1 to that, I don't do baccy flavours, and have enjoyed the better flavour (imho) that the rsst is giving me. Have put through vapology blackcurrent, alchemist cupboard coconut caramel hazelnut honey and currently on his mint choc chop, on the rsst with a mesh wick. Absolutely loving it, just wish it could be pocket friendly so I could take it to work!

I agree with markm. I used my RSST with 2mm 7*7 wire rope and full length #400 mesh skirt. Coiled @ 1.5ohm with 0.3*0.1 Kanthal ribbon. Apple pie tasted better in that than it ever did in my Kayfun! As did a few other fruit and dessert flavours... Regret selling it to a point, but I need attys that don't leak everywhere if they accidently gets knocked over.. Roscopecotrain, you'll probably find that the Silica won't be able to keep up if chain vaping, and I almost guarantee that once you've tried a stainless wick in a genny, you won't go back to using silica.. RSST is a gem of an atty what with the insulated wick hole and fully plastic tank.. My only tip for when you do try a stainless wick is to make sure you check the coil carefully for hotspots before you douse it in juice.. Do that and you won't look back! If you need a hand setting it up with rope and mesh just give me a shout.. easy as 123

I have found that 2mm hollow ecowool with a rolled up ss mesh wick inside it works really well on these

Once you can coil a wick that isn't prone to hotspots, then you can vape anything you like in them. I vape mostly tobacco flavours & they taste just as good with silica, as with mesh...........the silica just needs to be vaped at a lower wattage.

I am going to try a U wick with horizontal coil in a while.
I feel a short coming on.
