Well what a turn up for the books! When i went out to our local last night i was told there was a notice up that i may be interested in & when i checked it out i was very surprised to see that its been decided that for all the month of October vapers are allowed to vape inside the club as part of Stoptober, this will then be reviewed by the committee after the month is over for vaping inside to be permitted all the time.

Hopefully in a few years vaping will be so common place that there will be no need for notices that give permission to vape on the premises ... you never see a sign that says "chewing nicotine gum is permitted on these premises" lol

Well... Not quite the point I was making ... other "Government Approved" nicotine products can be used in pubs/clubs without signs declaring such ... not so vaping.

I'll probably get done for saying this, so send me to bed with no supper..lol A part of me can partly understand why vaping in confined places might be met with objection from non smokers/vapers. When I see the amount of vapor that comes from the mouths of the you tube videos it makes me want to cough just looking at it. I just think if there is half a dozen folk blowing out plumes of vapor it might make people cough, or feel like they about to cough. Mind you I am the only person in my circle who vapes and none of my friends smoke so I do appreciate my train of thought is tarred to fitting in completely with non vapers/smokers. I do appreciate I'm not helpful to the cause with my view but I do partly understand why non smokers/vapers would prefer we didn't in a confined space.

I agree, it's the vapour, while so appealing to ex smokers, or giving up smokers, that annoys non smokers. And I can understand that, even if vaping and 3rd party vaping is 99% proved to be safe, it's still a contaminate in other peoples air space. If I was a non smoker/vaper, I would be wondering about it too. Plus of course, there will always be nay sayers, who will say it's bad for you, no matter what. We aren't going to win this one I don't think, we should, but logically, I don't think we are. I do think it's great dinamic's pub has allowed it, even for a short while, my local allows it, but in the long term, we will probably be struggling in pubs.... unless the NHS comes around.

That's fantastic news, where in West Yorkshire, we too live in West Yorkshire and would love to see this pilot scheme adopted everywhere, it would be brilliant. Where we live, whatever shops, restaurants or bars we go in, no one minds and especially our post office...we get chatting and one of the girls always makes a comment and tries to guess what "lovely" flavour I'm vaping, but usually it's gone too fast for her to guess. She and the other people who work in there don't find it offensive at all, in fact they wished that a lot of their customers would take vaping up as there's nothing worse than the smell from someone just having stubbed a cig out, or stale cigarette smoke...let's hope they let people vape after Stoptober, Vape On! xx

The thing is though siffy when an artiste in our club has a smoke machine theres clouds of 'smoke' in the club & no one bothers about that & smoke machines use VG to produce this, so why create about vapers using ecigs? It would take about 50 vapers to create the same amount of vapour! I had to laugh when one of the committee (a smoker) said to me "as long as we don't get people using that cheap chinese rubbish" i told him my ecigs & everyone elses came from china as this is where they are made, where they were initially manufactured, he didn't know what to say haha. mittenkitten i live in a village called Hemsworth its right in the middle of Barnsley, Pontefract & Wakefield. I'm hoping they allow it permanently too.

That's good news dinamic22I was also in a pub yesterday, only briefly, I was picking Mr K up. I wasn't vaping but had my itaste in my hand and was surprised when Mr K's non smoking friend said 'Oh, is that one of those vaporisers'!

Funnily enough Siffy, we had this very problem at the last LSE meet up. We had our biggest turn out which was around 38 people if I remember correctly. After a while it did become an issue as we were all at the back part of the pub. Unfortunately, we were asked to go outside as they had dinner bookings in that area. Not sure what the answer is. Maybe go back to the good old days of smoking sections in bars and pubs, but rename them vaping sections! Can't see it happening though.

The Indian restaurant we used for our fishing syndicates xmas do last year let us vape at the table (there were two of us) it did feel strange after so many years of going outside! When I was smoking I like to think I was considerate and didn't intentions blow smoke into people and find I do the same when vaping. Old habits die hard as they say!

I was at Leigh Sports Village yesterday for rugby league's championships finals day, vaping away in the stand no bother. OK, not enclosed, but it does show some venues are at least enlightened. I do agree though that loads of peeps vaping in an enclosed area could be a problem, especially as chain-vaping is more prevailent than chain-smoking....

Hahahha some people make me laugh, we've been importing goods from China for thousands of years, why does anyone think that it's going to stop now?
As for loads of vapers, vaping together as opposed smokers, smoking together, I know which crowd I'd rather be in. The simple truth is after 464 days of vaping, I feel so much better, I don't stink to high heaven and more importantly I'm not hurting my loved ones with my passive smoking. I'm not saying that 80% of the population (those who don't smoke) shouldn't have a say, and indeed they are the majority, but let's get real, even if we walk past a smoker in the street, the smell is disgusting, whether a vaper is vaping inside or out, we aren't killing people, smoking is taking peoples' lives each and every single day. A world where cigarettes were gone and electronic cigarettes were allowed would suit me down to the ground, the knock on effect would be tremendous. We were all spending our hard earned cash to kill ourselves, and now we spend it to live longer, happier, healthier and wealthier without the guilt of knowing by smoking, you weren't just hurting yourself.
