I got an Innokin itaste v3 which died when it was only three weeks old. Is there an inherent problem with this version or was I just unlucky? I've had a v2 for a little while (2 months, haven't been vaping long) which I love so thought I'd have another. Is my v2 going to die suddenly as well? Unfortunately I was in France at the time and had only taken the two batteries with me, fortunately I came across a very swanky e-cig shop in a little town and my 'O' level French managed to procure a cheap(ish) Ego battery to see me through. I'm now in a bit of a panic about not having enough back-ups if life expectancy is counted in weeks or months rather than years AND recalculating the savings I thought I would be making once the spending spree was over.

I don't know how long an itaste should last, but I reckon it should be a damn sight longer than 3 weeks! I would suggest that you get in touch with the vendor.

I'd be going back to your Vendor if they're lasting so little time loobiebloo . . . although they're highly unlikely to last years, you should be getting more than a couple of weeks.

Are you sure its not something simple, I haven't the experience of the V3 to know what its common niggles might be - but a problem common to most things is a pushed in centre pin. If you describe the problem in a little more detail then someone may come up with a simple solution.

Thank you for the very quick responses. I have now e-mailed the vendor; I had a bad experience early on buying something that didn't work at all and finding the vendor less than helpful but I have been encouraged by many of the posts on this forum. I did kind of hope that good batteries might last a couple of years maybe? I read in another thread about lifting the centre pin - I tried that but am not sure if it actually moved or not. I was vaping (and impressing friends and relatives who didn't believe I would ever stop smoking) when it just stopped; I thought it had run out of charge so plugged it in and no light, nothing, zilch! It wasn't the foreign voltage as my v2 charged quite happily with an adapter and I figured the pin wouldn't effect charging because the itaste charges from the base.

I think I read somewhere that a decent battery should last for about 500 charging cycles. So if it's in constant use and you charge it, say, once a day then it ought to last at least 18 months. (Mind you, I've had some cheap ego batteries that have given up after about a month.)

I think it is 300 full charges - or 600 half charges etc. But like light bulbs they can go any time - the 300 is just an average, you can strike unlucky.
The other thing worth doing is giving the connections on battery and charger a really good clean.

I'm on my third itaste in six months. The first one literally fell apart after about a month. My partner managed to put it back together for me, but it's now officially dead. The second one started to boil the ejuice all by itself as it sat next to me on the table, and the third one is still going strong, though I think the battery charge is diminishing. The first two I bought from a local (Australian) supplier for AUD80 each, the third one was half that price from China - the Chinese one had been by far the more reliable. I recently tried to buy a couple more, but the supplier was out of stock, and I get antsy if I only have one battery, so I ordered a couple of Joye EGO-Ts as back up. I much prefer the vape from the iTaste, and I'm going to try just one more before I reluctantly give up on them. Maybe I'll try an Innokin MVP?? I'm about to trawl the boards looking for any EGO-T tips. I'm getting that burnt taste if I pull too hard, so maybe they'll just end up being my emergencies. I was out the other day when my iTaste died, and my spare was at home. I caved and bought a packet of cigarettes and I'm happy to report that I found them utterly disgusting.

An average battery should last around 3-6 months, but you can never tell.I always have 2 batteries going and have never had one fail before 4 months, but that aside most vendors will give a standard 1 month guarantee. You should check with them.

Quick update - I took your advice sleepyduck and Perpetua and e-mailed the vendor. I wasn't going to as my very first (very expensive) purchase was considerably less than satisfactory and my subsequent experience with the vendor left me feeling that it really wasn't worth the effort. I have had a much more positive response on this occasion and the offending battery is now on its way back to where it came from. If the outcome is positive - even if they tell me that, sorry, I did something stupid and it was my fault but in a nice way - then I will post a thank you to the vendor. As an aside, I decided that I should probably get hold of something into which I could stick proper batteries so I've just acquired a Sigelei Z Max. At the moment I'm a bit overwhelmed - it arrived all set up and has made a huge difference to the existing bits and pieces I have attached to it but I haven't got the foggiest idea how to work it - I'm off to You Tube now. artfunk54 before you buy another itaste check out the reviews of the vv/vw mods on here.

That sounds positive loobiebloo. There's a couple of Zmax reviews for the V1 & V2, depending what version you have. Very happy with mine.

loobiebloo Here's the menu for the Segelei v3 (and I think it's the same on the earlier versions too). If you're going to use it in VW mode the first thing you'll need to do is to go to option 7 and select 'Power', then go to option 8 and select 'RMS' (selecting 'mean' is a waste of time). 1.Off/On. Turns the device on or off. 2.Power/Voltage up. Raises the power or voltage up. 3.Power/Voltage Down. Lowers the power or voltage. 4.Battery Voltage. Shows remaining battery voltage. 5.LCD Display. Change what is diplayed on your screen during use. Resistance, Battery Voltage, or Output power/voltage 6.LCD on/off. Turns the LCD screen on or off during use. 7.Power / Voltage setting. Allows you to set the output to power(watts) or Voltage. 8.RMS & Mean Setting. Allows you to use RMS or Mean output for Power/Voltage. (RMS is recommended) Enjoy

I've been pressing the button willy nilly - the real learning curve is in the timing I believe (lesson for life there!). I am am now trying to get my head round the voltage/resistance/wattage charts, graphs and things that were updated recently so came into the radar. Even without tweaking this thing has improved my vaping experience no end - sticking on a well used atomizer with well used juice is a completely different experience. The excitement of vaping is that there is always a next step - that's also the biggest drawback as it all gets a bit expensive!

Update. I took the advice, e-mailed the vendor, was told to send the battery and charger back which I did on Wednesday, a replacement arrived today. Well happy, thank you all because I would have written it off (as I said earlier bad first experience). I can only say that the Vapour Room team have restored my faith in vaping vendors, Mark on faults and returns couldn't have been more helpfull and kept me updated by e-mail throughout
