Did your tastes change?

So here I am, day 10, doing fab!

I've noticed my sense of smell coming back and taste now too, I've also noticed some things I could eat/drink all day every day are beginning to turn yucky.

My main vice (apart from stinkies when I smoked!) is cola, I can literally drink gallons of the stuff. I don't like tea or coffee, went of milk when I was 6 months old and find squash immensly boring, same with water, the only way I can drink water is if it has half a ton of ice in it which ends up making things worse because I have very sensitive teeth so I still don't really enjoy it.

Today, I'm finding cola is making me feel sick and leaving a really yucky taste in my mouth that I can't seem to shift and actually feel like pouring mine away and drinking something else.


Has anyone else found that since giving up the stinkies? Are there foods or drinks you once liked and now dislike or vica versa?

Yes, now that your not bashing your taste buds with smoke
You will discover what things really taste like.
How so many top chefs could also have been heavy smokers still baffles me.

it happens to us all, you say your going off cola.
Was that "Diet Cola" by any chance? The muck they put in that stuff to replace the sugar causes all sorts of problems..possibly why your getting a vile taste now is because your tastebuds have nowhere to hide.

Varies - currently no, but I chop and change as to whatever is on offer, the bottle I have at the moment though is an EU bottle of Coca-Cola from god knows where the take-away we got it from lol

I'm currently getting Vanilla Coke when I can incase it disappears off the shelves again like it did all those years ago, I've been hankering after it for eons, usually had to order from US suppliers online but not very often as it cost a bomb!

I used to love root beer, can't stand the stuff now! I bought some the last time I went to England, I was 6 months into vaping. took a sip, spat it out and asked hubby to taste it cause I thought it had gone off! He said no it's always tasted like that lol

I can now eat banana which before would make me physically sick and i can custard now which i hates before.

I don't think there is anything I liked then that I don't now, I love hot food and the long haired sheriff said I would never be able to eat that after I switched over. The truth is I love it more the hotter the better.... I can taste and smell things a 100 times better now though

Food tastes more delicious and I can taste the freshness of everything I cook. Nothing I have gone off yet but my nose is causing problems. I iron for people and a couple of customers now have a steam generator iron (they are just fab!) I can now smell unplesantness when I am ironing over the armpit area of the mens shirts, seriously I can REALLY smell things I never noticed before..lol

After just coming out of the shower I can also confirm my shower gel which I thought smelt amazeballs when I smoked bloody stinks now, eeew, in the bin! (choc mint Source for those wondering!)

I can honestly say that I haven't lost interest in anything since vaping, but I do now notice a lot more flavour and aroma in everything, including those nasty cancer-sticks I used to put in my gob about 20 times a day!
Curries and spicy food - the hotter the better, and even slow-cooker casseroles etc. taste better than they did before.
All in all, a good thing, although I do agree that some items are less attractive now I can actually taste what's in them!
