I have now stopped regular smoking (43 days to be precise) and up until recently I have been using the nicolites cartomisers. I have found these extremely expensive; and as I decided to quit as I couldn't afford to smoke (as well as health issues) these were just as bad. I have recently purchased the Ego 4 and I have had so many problems. The first one I bought (from a retailer) vaped initially but other than the light coming on doesn't seem to work at all. I had only had it for half an hour before it stopped completely. It has charge, I have gently lifted the battery connection with a toothpick but all to no avail.
I have heard you can refill the nicolites; and wondered whether anyone has any tips to both fix the ego and also to refill the nicolite.
I would also appreciate advice on which is the best juice. I like a really strong menthol kick. Many thanks....

sammy - sorry to hear that you have had problems with your gear after making a personal commitment to quit tobacco
Could you let us know where you bought your Ego kit from, or better still a link? This will help us to best help you.
There are some great juice retailers around - www.joosejuice.co.uk doa wicked Menthol so I hear; might be worth trying.
If your Ego is beyond repair, please let us suggest some kits which are reliable and long-lasting. I quit smoking because of the cost and was worried at first because my kit was almost costing more than my rolling tobacco, but now I am sorted, I spend about £15 a month, and this is a significant saving. Perhaps if you are able to buy another battery and clearo/tank combi, this would set you up for the long term.

Dear all thanks for replying.
I got my ego from asda but it looks like the battery component has welded itself together so all the contacts are not connecting. I got another one as a backup from eBay but I am having to unscrew it every few minutes as liquid is forming on the battery. I would like a no fuss, easy and reliable one that can be used easily. I do not have much in terms of funding at the moment having just wasted over£40 on two egos and I'm feeling very disheartened as the intention was to cut costs whilst having use of a great e cig. I smoked from the age of 14 years, then stopped for 8 years before stress caused me to turn to cigarettes again. I'm 38 now. Any help and suggestions would be very very welcome xxx

There's a video about refilling nicolites - it isn't really 2 hours long, he just forgot to turn the camera off or something. Basically you just pull out the white cap at the end of the tip, drip juice down the inside (avoiding getting it down the very middle) until the filler looks soggy, put the cap back & go.

I don't have a CE4, so can't really advise. But if it is the sort of thing I think it is then there is a replaceable head inside which may not be properly screwed down. If you got it from a shop (as opposed to on-line) I'd take it back

For starters sammy I'd take the one you bought from Asda back to them & ask for a refund.

As for the one you got from ebay, it sounds like the clearomiser is leaking rather than problems with the battery itself?

I agree with giles it's not a good idea to buy any e-cigs from ebay as they banned the sale of e-cigs over 4 years ago. So any seller listing them could end up being banned if anyone reports them.

sammy I mainly use a Vamo & a Vision Spinner. However, the ego type batteries along with clearomisers can be really good as long as you buy the from a reputable vendor.

More expenditure I know, but if you can ( and should ) get your money refunded from Asda that would part fund it.

Might be worth considering a SNAD on the Ebay purchase if the Seller isn't very helpful with regards to refunding/replacing.

I agree ASDA should do a refund , also try the EVOD it isn't expensive and reliable also a great vape
