Hi ive just received my first mixing kit and concentrates, so will be having my first mixing session tonight... I've been lurking on this board for a week or so and picking up tips etc, I did read a thread where people discussed the order of ingredients they add, but I can't find it today. Maybe someone would be so kind as to remind me of which order is best? Many thanks and no doubt I'll have a few other questions soon enough! ( I'm still waiting for some Stevia and also have some Ethylmaltol to play with..)

Whatever suits you - the point of mixing is that, well, it gets mixed up! So the order you add the ingredients has no actual effect on the end result. I personally have always just mixed in the order the ingredients are displayed on EJMU, so nic, base, flavouring, additives. But you can do it however you like

Hi Herbie It makes no difference to the end result the order in which you add the ingredients as they will be shook up and thouroughly mixed. However I personally add the flavours first, PG and VG next and my Nicotine base last ... the only reason I do it in this order is that if I screw up with the flavours or PG/VG then I can dump it and start again without having wasted precious nicotine base.

Two reasons to put in the nic first - that's the one you want to be exact (spill in a bit of extra dilutant and it's not dangerous), and that's the one you want to ensure is most thoroughly mixed

Goes without saying In the real world not everyone has a number of clean dry measuring containers and the process is thrown off by stupid things like the viscosity of the bases (e.g. VG sticks to the sides of a measuring cylinder then slowly sinks back)

Well, in my usual slapdash methodology, I add the ingredients in the order they read from EJMU, which conveniently starts with the nic base. That also means that the dangerous bit is completed first, and I can put the nic base bottle well out of harm's way, and give the syringe a good washout before starting on the other bits. If the juice is shaken thoroughly after mixing and then shaken every day to mix up the air/juice then that in my book equals well-mixed. As Roger Moore would have said, "shaken, not stirred"!

What's EJMU please?

EMJU is great for also saving your recipes and at the top of the program under file and open, you will find loads of recipes.

it don't matter what order you do it in. What does matter is that you don't lose count or forget if you added something or not. Use the ingredient, then place it well away from you so you know you used it.
I try to be as exact as i can when mixing (i use little digital scales) but to be honest a small error here or there isn't a problem for me. You may end up with slightly more or less nic (and it will only be very little in my mind), slightly more or less flavour, but it will only be slight and not worth worrying about.

Exactly. The order does not matter. Just get into a habit of always doing it the same way so not to double dose. Layout your bottles in front of you then relocate the bottle that you just used. I do Nic, PG, VG, Flavoring in that order.
