I've just received a bottle of Ginger Nut from Mrs Lord & Co and I am desperate to try it but I CAN'T GET THE CHILDPROOF LID OFF! Short of finding a hacksaw - what can I do?? This is beyond frustrating! NB I got another bottle at the same time and it's lid came off a treat so it is not a general failing on my part to open child-proof lids.

I've had this too........keep fiddling is all I can suggest............Push the top down hard & then twist it quickly........or pulling it upwards as you twist it.........very annoying..............

Perhaps make a small hole in the cap and syringe (if you have one ofc) the juice out into another bottle, looks like they should be called adult-proof-lids

Pry off the "outer" cap with a spoon.
Best of luck
If that doesn't work... Use a thumbtack/pushpin ... push into the side of outer cap to lock both "caps" together, hold tight and twist off.

Easy. give it to a child to open Joking of course, i'd never let a kid near juice. But it's well known that they can open childproof bottles easier than us adults Perhaps try putting the lid down wards into hot water? Is it just stuck fast or kind of clicking and twisting? If it's stuck fast, maybe wearing rubber gloves can help or even some pliers. If it's clicking and turning, pliars work well as it squeezes the 2 parts of the lid together defeating the ratchet bit.

Thanks all, I pushed and fiddled, couldn't find a tack because I've got a magnetic pin board - more frustration. Karma get a pair of pliers and physically remove the black outer cap (maybe you need to be seriously frustrated at this point?) the white inner cap then comes off quite easily. Happy Bunny now - it's gorgeous. Fortunately it comes complete with an alternative top with a dropper!!

I had the same problem...
I managed to open my Custard Cream by donning a pair of rubber gloves. I held the bottle firmly in place on my kitchen worktop before pressing and turning. It's always more of a worry when the bottles are made of glass. Don't really want to shatter one of those!
Still haven't succeeded in opening the Ginger bottle yet...........

It was well worth all the hassle - this stuff is absolutely gorgeous and that's (almost) straight out of the package.

Get a pair of pliers or pipe grips squeeze the lid tight and unscrew it, That jams the outside onto the inside "ratchet" bit and it will come undone.
