I apologise also stamina if any of my posts have caused any offence........I certainly sympathise with your predicament & hope that it gets resolved soon.......another thought I've pondered that may assist, is to maybe casually mention in passing to her son how attractive Switzerland is this time of year, along with it's certain beliefs.............................................................only joking.....

Just had a word with her son and said he would have another word with her. He said she is losing it a bit and that she is having hearing test next week. He also added that when he was there on Sunday afternoon - she said to him he's off again with his music, his response was that he couldn't hear anything.
With this new info - I will let it be for a week but after her hearing test I will report it if she starts playing up but in the interim I will sleep during the day and stay wide awake at night as this pattern of sleep will be good preparation for the next years world cup unless I get a job in the meantime, hopefully a night time job for bensons for beds.
Tonight should be funny because she will blame me for the firework noises. Yes I can hear them too.

Sadly no champions league for me tonight but hopefully will feel champion tomorrow. Going to bed soon so I will say to all goodnight and thanks for contributing with advice and laughter.

I was going to start to suggest some nice sennheiser noise cancelling headphones but then your alarm clock wouldn't wake you up either. . .

And for the rest of you I am old gang resistant having worked for 11 years within Shearings Holidays - I've seen all the tricks and they seem to instinctively know I've had anti-aged bullcrap training.

I'm a community mental health support worker and was going to suggest a hearing test, she may have a wax build up in her ears, and the banging could be her own heartbeat she is hearing, or tinnitus perhaps. See how the hearing test goes, she might just need a good syringing. If nowt improves, think about ringing your local vulnerable adults team. Keep up with doing the favours and being nice, I'd much rather be the neighbour who's lovely if only he kept his music down, rather than the twat next door who's awful to me, AND tortures me at night with his dub and basey.

Stamina my guess is that this situation is going to get worse, if the son is saying she is loosing it a bit, not living there he wouldn't have clue what her condition is. Social services is your best bet it is there responsibility in cases like this to provide both help and support to this poor individual.

You may have to be assertive with them and insist take a look at the situation, there is nothing worse than watching the human brain slowly loosing capacity, and you will probably find that from her prospective that the music will never stop.

She desperately needs help and if the son won't recognise this then inform social services or you will suffer this pattern of behaviour for ever.

Making a note for future reference if needed.

Sat 3.17 am telephone call received by next door. I didn't answer it but spoke to her son around midday Saturday.
He told me he is setting up a recording device today to detect the music. I said to him that your mum might be able to hear music but its not coming from my house and I doubt if there was any so call music whether the device can detect where its coming from.
I spoke to next door the other side of me to see whether she has heard any music. She told me no not last night but in the week and its coming from the end of the street where the students are and when she told me this, the son of the woman was there to hear.
The problem is a entry between her and the students and to her seems impossible it's them causing the noise. She swore at me and as it stands she is saying that I am lying and she hates me.
I have one of those old tape recording machines and a new TDK 90 tape ready for tonight's installment to record silence from my side and her banging on the wall.

He told me that her hearing test is on Tuesday and if she does receive hearing aids then I fear that she will be able to hear the music even louder while still being confused on what direction its coming from.

No more dealings with her. Time for authorities to take action and clear my name.
