Hi I've been reading these boards for a couple of days now and still have a bit of confusion going on. I recently bought this and for the first couple of weeks was just using tobacco juice in it - whilst I enjoyed it, I was still on the fags but considerably fewer. I couldn't see the appeal of the different flavours - I know I know! Anyway, I recently thought I needed to try something else as I was still after smoking fags - so I bought a cafe brasiliano, a coffee and butterscotch, all of which I love love love and my cigarette consumption has dropped dramatically in the two days I've had the flavours - amazing! Anyhow - I was looking into getting a protank or similar but not sure if it will be compatible with the battery I already have - or should I buy the starter type kit? I've read on here and elsewhere that the difference is a much improved experience and wonder whether upgrading to this might be enough to kick the stinky habit for good.. Any advice? Many thanks B

Hi effington and welcome to the forum! Yes, a Protank will fit your eGo battery, but it will look a bit strange as the diameter of the PT is larger than that of the battery, and it's probably almost as long. You might be better considering a larger battery to go with your PT, and this could either be something like a Spinner or Twist; alternatively you could go the whole hog and get yourself something like a Vamo, which will give you much more flexibility and battery life too. Apologies - I'm on my phone so can't easily do links, but I'm sure there will be learned friends along shortly to help you in your quest. I'm really pleased that you are now enjoying other flavours apart from just tobacco ones - there is a whole flavour world out there just waiting to be discovered!!

Ummm. A Protank should fit your kit - if it has both 510 (the small thread) and eGo (the bigger one, outside) you can choose either the mini or full-sized protank. Personally, I'd go with the mini. The difference between what you have and a protank might be a little, but if you are struggling, it might not be drastic enough. (??) Whatever, don't go back to tablites.... not when you can get things like this. myepack.co.uk/kits.html

Wow! Thanks so much for the quick responses! Really helpful.
I guess, yes, it's a bit more oomph I want - If I vape alot I find that I don't get the 'hit' that I like and have to put it down for a bit and come back to it - which is when I'm at most danger of going for a cig! I read that the protank gives a better vape experience but I guess I don't really know what 'better' in that context might mean!
I went to tablites as when I decide I am going to do something I have to do it right then and there so needed to get out and buy the kit quickly! But now I've got all of that I'm prepared to do the research and take a bit of time.
So the protank - in what way is it better? I'm currently using the plastic clearomizers that you replace - I've yet to have one break or 'burn' out or anything. Not sure I'm interested in the faff of cleaning them or whatever it is you clever folk do - actually scratch that, it's not so much that I@m not interested, I just don't think I have the time.
I've also read somewhere that a bottom up clearomizer thing is better? What on earth does that mean? do I need to get me one of those? Sorry - loads of rambly questions, my head is full of them after reading so much stuff on here!

effington the kit I linked to above, the Protank comes with replacement heads. All you have to do is rinse the tank out, unscrew the old head and screw the new one in, really simple, honest

Thank you I might give that a go or as someone else suggested the variable battery thingies might do the trick? The shop where I bought the e juice stuff let me try one but to be honest I couldn't tell much difference but they weren't sure if it was fully charged.
Thank goodness for finding here or I'd have spent a month's salary on buying tons of stuff without a clue. What's that phrase.. all the gear and no idea?! #

One of the main questions we need to ask is how many ciggies were you smoking per day and what is the strength of the juice that you have been using ? Ohh and a warm welcome too

Sorry to be annoying (not again, DJS) but in my opinion simply swapping a CE clearo for a Protank will be only half the battle.
Why not pair up a Spinner with a new type of clearomiser: protank, mini protank, davide, iClear, whatever....and see how you go.
If the shop where you tried stuff out got you to try a variable voltage (VV) battery and there was no difference, then something's not right with that. An out-of-the-box Protank on a plain eGo wouldn't normally produce fantastic vapour. Ramped up to 4.2 volts (with a 2 ohm + atomizer) should be quite dramatic.
I wonder what was going on.

Hi
Was getting on close to 30 fags a day - Lambert & Butler light... I have been using 18mg which seems ok most of the time - started on the lower one but gave that up pretty quickly!!

DJS - the variable thing wasn't out of the box - was just scrubbling around at the back of their desk so may not have been charged?? Not having a go at the shop, they were super helpful on the flavours!
So the variable battery link above plus a protank you think would do the oomphness?!

Hi effington, I was on 40 super king a day and it took me a month of vaping and smoking before I went 100% vaping. Although I have tried 36mg and 30mg, I settled on 24mg and stayed there for my first year. I am only now starting to reduce the mg levels in some, but not yet all, of my e-juices. My vaping journey has very much been about discovering what suits me and that goes for the equipment as much as the taste of the different e-juices. In doing so I have wasted money on stuff I didn't like, but overall, I have come out the end with a good set up and some e-juices that I am very contented with. Oh, and by the by, when I tot up what I have spent against what I have saved in not buying cigarettes, the difference bought us a Caravan a couple of months ago and that is the next few years holidays already bought and paid for!!
