Hi guys!! Im completely new to the site and e cigs. Brief background, husband of 25 years has never smoked and hates it with a vengeance, Ive smoked on and off the whole time. I went Tescos the other night and bought one of the Ten Motivations and used it since. A couple of cigs since but today Ive only had one rollie compared to my normal ...10 by lunchtime! Im very happy but there are so many ecigs out there which ones would you all recommend for long term use? I haven't got lots of money to go and buy an expensive one but would if everyone recommends it in the same respect I cant afford to go and spend £8 on refills several times a week! Im strictly a menthol girl too Downside, just told hubby that Ive hardly smoked today and gone to the ecigs and he reckons they are as bad as normal cigs.....arent I lucky to have such a supportive husband!! Look forwards to hearing from you guys xx

to the forum swanner and well done for making a start in getting off the rollies. I believe these cigalikes are quite expensive, but I've never bought them myself. I would suggest that you try a set up with a battery and clearomiser/cartomiser which you can recharge and refill for a fraction of the cost of cigalikes. Something like this maybe www.vapeescape.co.uk/Deluxe-Vaping-Kits/Vape-Escape-Vision-1000/Vape-Escape-Vision-1000-Ultimate.htmlThere will be others with more experience than me along to help you soon.

hi and welcome swanner, put aside a bit of timewhen you won't be disturbed and start reading here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/28309/pics-vids-get-started-abbreviations?page=1&scrollTo=513677 huge amount of info to get you started and as far as "being as bad as normal cigs" there is a huge amount of scientific as well as anecdotal evidence to prove to your Hubby the error of his ways, i am sure many more of the forum will be along shortly to give you some pointers, most of us avoid "cig alikes" due to taste and cost but you have taken the first step. Good luck

swannerfirst off to AAEC and congrats on making the first move. No doubt you will be inundated with links and suggestions on here, but remember we arealways happy to help out. As a newbie, I would suggest you follow the basic path, 2 batteries (use one have one in reserve/on charge) a couple of Cleariomisers (the tank where the juice goes) A charger Selection of juices till you know what you like. it's possible to get the lot as a kit, but there is such a vast selection out there you really are spoilt for choice. that's where we come in. If in doubt ask on here. there is no such thing as a silly question and no strangers, just friends you haven't met yet. Have a looksee on here and don't be put off with the terminology. myepack.co.uk/kits.html

hi swanner to AAEC! Whatever your hubby thnks of e-cigs now, in the long run he will appreciate the fact you don't smell of smoke, the fact that e-cig vapour is virtually odourless, and the fact that it's cheaper than buying baccy in the long run - even if he mistakenly thinks that e-cigs are just as bad for you. I'd recommend having a look at Joose Juice for menthol juices as the prices are ridulously good and the juices are ridiculouly tasty. But it's not my thing, so regular menthol vapers may have other suggestions.

Hi! and welcome Sadly, a good e-cig needs some upfront investment, but you can do it for under £40. Maybe even £30. I (we) use these refillable systems to a) get enough nicotine to not need to smoke. b) spend less on liquid than buying refills. c) have a battery that lasts a day compared to a few hours. and d) get some satisfaction. You can stop reading, or go on.... Don't say I didn't warn you. Here's my take on it Are you sure? a) 10 motives and E-Lites and skycig may claim to do hundreds of puffs, but the nicotine YIELD is probably half a pack of cigarettes per cartomiser/refill. This means to vape enough to equal your nicotine intake from smoking cigarettes the annual cost of these is £1,000s. b) I fill my e-cig for the day for under 50p. To get 2ml of liquid from prefilled would cost £2 to £8 A DAY, dependent on brand. c) a good eGo battery can last a day. a Mod battery can last 2,3,4 days. d).. ... Well done on quitting the smokes. (or almost quitting). The fact you have come this far with such an ineffective product is remarkable. Lots of us started on supermarket e-cigs. Most of us spent way too much money believing the hype. Take care, good luck.

I used 10 motives on and off over a couple of years never managed to quit the smokes completely with them though. I'm relatively new to vaping think it's about 6 or 7 weeks and I've not had one stinkie in that time never wanted one even. It's up to you how much you spend to start with but there are upfront costs but once you are settled with a kit the joose juice eliquid is good and very cheap. There's loads of information on here and welcome to the madhouse

I'm relatively new to vaping think it's about 6 or 7 weeks and I've not had one stinkie in that time never wanted one even. Great post. There is a couple (known to me) who have been using a supermarket e-cig which claims to be "the UK's best". They have been on them 18 months. They both still smoke. I understand they spend £40-50 a week on refills and £6,500 on smoking. So, that's getting on for £9,000 a year and still be smoking. These products are not capable or explicitly designed to enable you to stop smoking. No product can do that, nor should it claim to do so. However, with the right product, it's not hard to replace the nicotine and habit of smoking. I did it and I have willpower of a turkey.

I cant recommend buying a decent clearomiser and battery(ies) highly enough. Anything by Innokin is a good start, a decent "Starter Kit" is about £20, BUT be aware there is maintainance to do. It's easy enough, and there are loads of videos on youtube, as an ex-rollie smoker myself I actually enjoy the cleaning and "Dry Burning"as it fills the "making a rollie" experience I was doing loads of. Dont be frightened to ask advice on here, and be aware that SOME flavours of juice can crack plastic tanks, it is possible to get Pyrex/Glass tanks that are safe for all e-juice.

Don't be put off by the maintaining it's just basically washing it out and soaking normally. Dry burning is just firing it up without a clearomizer (which holds the liquid) for a few times to burn off gunk
