I've looked at charging bags, but can't see how they would work with a battery that winds directly into a plug on the wall, via an adapter? These things don't stop it exploding, just stop the bits flying across the room and setting fire to something. Just let the wire go through the top. As long as the battery is inside you should be OK. I agree that a spinner is a good place to start. If you get a vamo later the spinner won't be wasted, still handy for out & about. Thanks Giles. I realise that the bag doesn't stop it exploding, I just meant that the battery I've been charging doesn't have a wire, the ego like thread just screws into the plug. Or are the bags (and advice on charging) just related to mod batteries? Looks like a spinner it is, for the time being at least. I think I'll be more than occupied by trying out the various heads that will be available to me with a standard (510/ego) thread. Then I'll look at moving to a mod in a few months time for use at home, if I feel the need. Many thanks for all the advice (and patience!).

Thumbs up to a Spinner from me as well Most ego/510 battery chargers do have a short lead. I know this one is sold out at the moment but mainly posting the link for the pic - www.ukecigcabin.com/product/evod-charger

The concern over batteries is mostly over the ones that go in mods. I haven't seen any reports of ego-type batteries exploding, which doesn't mean it hasn't happened, and personally I don't leave mine charging overnight. Then again, I have seen reports of laptop batteries exploding, but I do leave my laptop charging overnight. It isn't expensive to buy an ego charger with a wire, and there is a case for having a back-up charger. But I'm not sure whether I'd bother or not if I were you.
