I contacted VB via their online chat and they agreed (eventually) to send me a replacement base.

I've tried to measure the screws.  Not 100% sure but they're either M1.4 x 3 or M1.6 x 3.

Mines in the bin, started coiling it today and both screw terminals de threaded! Can't be arsed with buggering about trying to fix it, the plastic section fits my kay fun lite so that's in the spares box with the orings. Lesson learned

After 3 months waiting, I've finally got the replacement Russian clone base today............haven't attempted unscrewing yet, in case it's another dodgy one.
