Don't click 'buy' just yet Pepperty! Turns out I'd the price for 50ml of the VG nic and not 100ml. It's actually dearer for the 100ml VG nic than it is the PG nic. Going to do some more research and will come back to ya.

I'm feeling more confident about a goodly portion of it now after reading so many threads around here today. That said, lots more to learn before jumping in. If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 5 flavours of concentrate for mixing, what would your top 5 be? And is there a thread hiding on the forum where more experienced mixers have already had that discussion so I can save you repeating yourselves?

Cheers Super-Shiny    I'd read the first two threads but hadn't seen that third one yet.  Had a quick glance and blimey, it's a long one!  Must finish cooking the dinner, run 5k, shower & eat.  I'll get stuck in to Grizwald's thread this evening once I've that other stuff done and dusted.  The main goal is to understand as much as I can before clicking the buy button anywhere and you all have been a huge help.  Much appreciated!

I'd be hard put to choose just 5 as my fav's generally require something else with them, to make a complete mix.

VG Nic base does tend to be a little more pricey than PG, I'd think it's the manufacturing process that maybe makes the difference.

If you bought 100ml 72mg PG based, and added 100ml VG to mix - would you not have 200ml of 50/50 PG/VG mix at 36mg nic?

you would, but then you add flavour (which is pg based) and that can be up to 20% so you would be getting 40/60 pg/vg and then if you didn't want to vape at 36mg nic (I'd be considering 18mg) then you need to still half strength

I bought a starter kit from thealchemist a couple of weeks ago and it's fab. A lot easier to do than I originally thought it would be.

The nic I got was 72mg in VG.

The hardest part is waiting for it to steep once you've mixed it, coz you are just dying to try it out straight away. So after doing the actual mix you feel a bit deflated coz there's nothing more to do until it's steeped

I've just got 3 more concentrated flavours to try out which I'll be mixing in a little while.

Oh yeah, and as a newbie to mixing I've only done mixes of 2ml as I have no idea what percentage of flavour needs to go in the mixes - started off low at 10% - can always make up more at a higher percentage if the flavour is not strong enough. Learning curve regarding strength of flavours.

I'm jumping on this newbie mixing bandwagon with both feet too newdawn and Pepperty! Have nic base, syringes and flavours already waiting for me at work, and PG & VG on order... not back in the office until Friday, so hopefully it will all be there by then! Guess what I'm going to be doing this weekend???

But I'm pretty impatient, so like you toots, I'm going to find the whole steeping stage really tough!!!
