That was a heck of an event! Do watch the recording if you missed it, vapers were excellently represented by DD and the team - and chat contributors - and Chris Choi played the devils advocate well at times as expected. It was a lively but always courteous debate.

The best show I have ever seen on vttv - everyone involved, including chat, should Be very proud of themselves, I have high hopes of the itv show to follow in January. I also have very high hopes of the swof documentary, I expect to hear something on that Fairly soon. I am sure there will be much more serious tv interest in the near future as we emerge As a major story, and not just a sideshow fluff filler (aka the one show).

I thought Chris Choi was very sharp here, and pretty good at putting forward the point of view from the lay person.
Some of the points raised from the vapers were good also, but I got the overwhelming feeling that if this were broadcast on a national level, the majority of watchers would be persuaded by the argument that Choi puts across that we here have the chance to do it right from the start. And that the research is quite disjointed.
That said, all the contributors were very good IMO, however, I personally wouldn't have vaped right in Chris Choi's face during the interview, but that may just be me.
I did enjoy it though, but it did say to me that the vaping community needs to up their game to be taken seriously on the national stage in order to get the result we all feel we should be entitled to. Professional reporters, even after only a day of research, do appear to be pretty slick animals. It'll require a similar level of slickness to compete on a national level.

Good to watch, all things discussed
Now I don't know if it was just me but before I used an e-cig, I was cautious in using one and thought I don't want to carry a big thing like that around with me. But after I tried one I never looked back and cigarettes smell vile now, and I do agree they should be a foodstuff because of the contents of the liquid. You wouldn't have caffeine as a medicine but it is in some and all sorts of drinks. Nicotine is a an addiction but vaping is so much healthier and what harm can vapour actually do?

Brilliant video. I must say I thought Chris Choi was looking rather uncomfortable (not at ease) at the beginning of this video, but seemed rather more relaxed about things by the end of it. Also brilliant about the programme that's going to be shown on the ITV telly. I need to book that one in my diary - ooops don't yet have a 2014 diary

What I found most interesting was the questions that chris asked as a complete outsider with little knowledge of e-cigs It shows how many other non vaper/smokers are thinking and gives a little understanding to how those in power that HAVEN'T bothered to do their research are thinking and are quite happy to pass their votes anyway! What worried me was the fact that it's clearly money in the form of reduced tax revenue and lost pharma sales of nic replacement products that is forcing things to go the way they are going and the subject was barely touched ??? was that due to libel worries?

It shoud worry the likes of Jeremy mean and Sourby who will be shown up for what they are.

Hmmm, I was thinking along those lines des and maybe it is a revelation for another time or debate but it seemed like a missed opportunity What an agile mind Chris choi has though, Impressive! Public debate would indeed go some way to making the powers that be reside in a pretty untenable mindset and as you say, show them up for what they are.

I personally wouldn't have vaped right in Chris Choi's face during the interview, but that may just be me. I think it was alright. Chris was on an internet broadcast about vaping run by Dave a very enthusiastic vaper from Dave's house
