Well, I've had to start from scratch again after a shaky start. Being able to come back on here and read all of the positive comments about my wonky start has really helped and given me a huge dollop of renewed determination. (Last week was, well, not overly great - but we all get them, so no excuses really...) Anyway, I have been wondering how many other health benefits you have noticed since giving up the stinkies, apart from the obvious ones? I'm hoping that someone on here may have had a problem I've got and that it's vanished with the withdrawal from ciggies, like a big puff of unwanted smoke? The kit I bought from Mark has been fab and the indigestion has gone (thanks for help again, Mark - will be back to see you next week for more supplies) but there is something else I want to get rid of too... So has anyone run a marathon yet? Climbed Everest? Swam the Channel? Become a food tasting expert? A new 'nose' for a perfume house? I'd love to know of your achievements since being smoke free

Well done on starting again tigerlilly. I stopped the stinkies just a matter of days ago and my biggest thing is the ability to inhale and exhale without "rattling" - I am sure you know what I mean! Stick at it because as well as everything else your success will inspire others.

tigerlilly you will, over the next few months, begin to get your senses of taste and smell back. You will find you can breathe easier. Your lungs may well expel most of the built-up cr@p from the fags, often by coughing gunk up but not always so noticeable. Your lung capacity will increase, and you won't get out of breath so easily. The initial few months will probably show the biggest differences, but these should continue to improve over time. You WILL begin to feel physically and psychologically better..... How quick? everyone's different, so stick with it oh, and you, your clothes/car/house/etc. will stop smelling like an ashtray

cl0wnHiya tigerlilly, theres so many bonuses --- I chant them to myself whenever I think about cigarettes, health, no cough, more taste, more money? (if I stop spending on vaping gear) I feel happy that I've achieved smokeless immediately, no desperate urge for a sneaky fag, but if vaping can help you cut down and/or quit smoking, thats great! just dont put pressure on yourself and see how it goes

I've not run a marathon but I did leg it from one side of the site at work to the other when late the other day...about a 10 min run I spose, and I could still speak when I got there! I could pretend I wasn't late at all...been there ages...honest...

Not done anything remarkable as such tigerlilly . . . losing my horrible smokers cough is lovely though and my recovery time if I get a cold is hugely better. I used to smoke come hell or high water so they always turned to infections of some sort. Now they're gone in under a week, rather than a month.

Well, I guess I've got some things to look forward to then lol Legging it somewhere will be great, and I can't wait to get rid of that old smokers cough. I'm also looking forward to being able to laugh and not breaking into the hacks - I'm a bit of a giggler and it will be just dandy not to sit there coughing instead of laughing. It's embarrassing, isn't it? Now I've been trying to think of a suitable answer for having somewhere to put my towel, but doesn't seem to work somehow That comment made me guffaw...and I must admit I had a little snort too. Thanks for that :DSo now I know!

I've heard some negatives about people becoming more ill with viruses etc when they have given up smoking. Yep, and i could (notice past tense there ) smoke through anything too - in fact the craving got worse. It sounds gross now I come to think about it. Eww...

Just come home from shopping with my daughter in the car, on the way there I was vaping (another benefit...being able to vape near your loved ones and know you're not killing them). 'Whats that lovely toffee smell' says daughter, 'it's my ecig' says I. 'I now have a serious craving for toffee cookies' says she, 'I'm on a diet, why can't you use a liquid that smells of something slimming like lettuce' ...I can't win!

I can now exercise/run for longer without running out of breath or getting a stich before my muscles start to ache. Can only be a good thing and i will be climbing Kilimanjaro next year

My wife tells me my snoring has "improved" ......I think she dreamt it in the first place As I've never heard it myself. One of the things I notice about people coming back to the shop after getting Their first setup, they are happier people, they don't feel the weight of the Non smoking world pressing down on them and the little black crowd has stopped Following them round.

Not having to go outside to smoke and then come back in only for my children to tell me I stink is the biggest change for me.
Not had a cold since I started vaping so can't say if the cold goes quicker or not.
