the World Cup? Uruguay (in their own back yard)... Italy (say no more)... Costa Rica (who knows) Sad to say, but it's just going to be like every other over hyped failure. Bet the players have already booked their holidays before the second round.

It's not looking good is it. I try to stay positive, but I think being realistic may save me being disappointed .....again.

Just typical, still Plattini will be pleased...good old France, nice draw and for the second time, being there by poor referee decisions.

I'm deciding who to support once the first round is over . . .

I love my footie, but I'm a realist. Save us all a lot of heartache, and donate the money saved on hotels and plane tickets by the England team and send it to a kids charity. We have more hope of the weasel Sett Blatter allowing Wembley to host a World Cup than we have of getting through the first round!!

Come on BUDolly, I think your right but we have to have some faith....perhaps its a good thing. Our players consistently fail to impress at big tournaments...maybe, just maybe with everyone expecting us to fail....they may well play to the ability they show every week in the Premiership!!! Was that a little pig just flown by my window? ???

Well im speechless (not really i just thought it was a good opening ) If you guys dont want them then shove a blue shirt on the team and call it scotland .(apologies for our absence but something came up and we could nt go this time round ) Your team has qualified for the biggest showcase in world football and deserve support for that reason alone , get behind them and enjoy the spectacle because i can tell you now up here we would already be convinced scotland could win it (awww bless!!) (heyyy dont knock it, dreamers dont dream they plan and mould the future ) Good luck to England and along with millions of other scots ill be willing them on the first flight home (did i overdo it with that one ??? )

Lol . . . I'm ever the optimist really rich64, so I'll be rooting for our lads for as long as they're in. Though I never understand how some of our world class players can play so brilliantly for their clubs, then don't when they've an England shirt on.

HaHa... robby... but you'll need to imagine it with a very broad West Country accent, even after 30+ years away. I still get asked where I've parked the tractor!

Of course they should get on the plane... They work tirelessly week in week out, never complain and all for next to no pay. They deserve a break however short it may be. Optimistically though, has anyone thought that when we play Uruguay, there's the 20% chance that Suarez will be in his "I really can't be arsed" mood ?

I am not advocating that you waste your money on England winning on South America soil as more than likely a South American team will win it but England 33/1 in places is worth a punt, worth a pound bet. Saying that we are not expected to do well but football is a funny old game and the winnings could buy you a new mod.
Come on England. Get behind the team - support the lions. wave the flags and have the car stickers - stock up on the alcohol and be proud of your country,
Just kidding, we have no chance and as for getting on the plane (yes please) can you make it a one way ticket.

Some of us haven't had a team to support in a World Cup since Mexico '86!!
So cheer up all and be happy to be there!!

They say to win any big tournament you need a big slice of luck. Last time we had a big slice was 1966. We can win the World Cup but the lads will have to produce their best every game, is that doable ? Thats the question.
