Trying to think what I can add to the thread. Hmmmmm , Got one. When using a syringe many have suggested pulling back the plunger a bit and then suckinhg up liquid to graduation, however this is not taking into account what is in the needle. So, pull back bottom of plunger washer to say 1ml mark, then suck up liquid to amount you want (say 4ml) plus 1ml USING bottom of plunger again (so now plunger sits on 5ml mark) . You will note the liquid level appear slighly lower than 4ml, this is because some is in the needle. Now empty all the liqiuid into your mix. You have an accurate 4ml. Concentrate bottles.. Flavourart started using blue topped all in one needle droppers. They are a pain in the preverabial. You can get the top off but is by sheer brute force and may break the neck of the bottle. Decant the lot into a decent bottle. Incidently last lot I got direct from Flavourart are back to using decent bottles where you can remove the nozzle. Apparently Flavourart designed there new bottles to meet the requirements of German safety for bottles and sealing because all these other bottles we have do not... thats what they told me anyway. again. I started using electronic scales for my mixing measurements a year ago, you do have ti convert ml into grams using specific weights. e.g PG = 1.036 g/ml, and AG diluted with 20% vodka) = 1.208 g. So a bit more work calculating things but once done and listed you can just look it up. Think is by weight it is so close you can just use mg instead of ml and be fairly close and as it is all done by taste you will work out what you like best anyway but by grams rather than ml, and will be spot on ratios if you are 100% PG. Hope that all makes sense, but seriously using little electronic cheap scales really speeds up mixing. Sorry to bore, just wanted to add something to the thread.

Brambles It is accurate if you don't use a needle. I don't. It is much easier without one, I decant into a measuring cup and then use the syringe.

Oh dear I am on roll her over using electronic scales. What you can do is calibrate the scales using PG or AG. and use two sets of scales. 200g x 0.01g scales are best. Work out the weight of 100ml of PG. Thats easy 103.6grams. So using a bottle add water until the whole lot including bottle weights 103.6grams with the top on. You could use a glass bottle so there is no evaporation over time. Label and put aside as 100PG reference weight. Now do the same using same scales for VG. 100ml = 126.1g level as VG reference and put aside. You may want do this using diluted Ag instead so if you use water then its easy as with water 1ml = 1g. Work out what your diluted vg weight will be by approximation. To guide you. 0 water added 126.1g, 10% water is 123.72g, and 20% water added is 121.75grams. Now make up a reference weight again using water in a bottle. next take one set of scales and calibrate it at 100grams calibration setting ( see instructions for scales using 100g) and calibrate using PG reference weight. These scales will now display PG in ml volume. That is it, no need for syringes any more. You place mixing bottle on scales, zero the tare weight and drip in PG, PG nic or favouring until diplay reaches teh ml you want. Done, Zeo scales gain or tare weight and add next component of mix if pg based. Now using a 2nd set of scales use the VG/AG reference bottle and calibrate and mark scales as AG ml. Now you can transfer mixing bottle to this and add your AG components in ml. Keep your reference bottles incase you ever need to recalibrate or check the scales. Mixing after this bit of laborious hard work setting up becomes really easy peasy. But this all sound too messy to me, even thoug it simplifies it in the end, I would rather just calculate weights to use on accurate scales which are in grams and not bother with recalibrating. Its just I am n a roll typing all this 'boring rubbish' attempting to keep a few more brrain cell I have left alive. But, maybe just one of you reading will think...Ahhhhh, I like the sound of using scales and is happy with all the maths...and will make a better job of explaining how to do it If all the above does not make sense, blame my other half who kept talking to me about washing machines and making the Tea soon as I was typing it all.

Loving all the helpful advice hold on the scales for now Brambles my brain still hurts from 'doing the basics' You know what? one of the best bits about self mixing is: My favourite flavours, I can make up at low nicotine strength knowing I'll hammer them! I can meddle and make up at all different strengths, from 1 bottle of concentrate - its brilliant!

fret not jaysey bet you dont get interupted by hungover teens trying to burn down kitchen/fry bacon when your quivering with a syringe I just picked the wrong time to go for it! Between e-juice me up, dot1ml and eliquid recipies I suspect we cant go ( too) wrong

...except we haven't tasted what we've made yet. Won't be convinced until that day.

no? I'm hammering my red astaire? -- that I have to mix at 10 ml nicotine ( when I'm an 18+ strength... and unfortunately dress size too) because I love it so much I cant stop! least I can sort out avoiding headaches from too much nicotine

I've just spent a really enjoyable 10 minutes with my 18yo daughter. She walked in room and commented about the 'gorgeous smell' she suggested jelly babies!!¬ So I explained about the flavourings in my vape juices ( Im on T-Juice Red Astaire, its addictivly delicious so I mix it nicotine base low as I cant put it down of an evening) ...then I recalled that they are food based flavours so there was no harm in letting her smell/see my collection. Plus, shes a non smoker We have both had a really good laugh playing 'guess the smell' from my newly collected flavours, a mix of TPA, Capella, CCW etc. It also gave me an opening to explain the dangers of my nic. base ( well you never know - even with teenagers) Its so nice to know my kids are interested in how I'm doing, after all - It impacts on them too

Tweezers work well for hoiking the dropper off of a bottle, and for wedging the dropper back in if you decide to keep it there. I'm building up a small pile of underemployed droppers

Now come on, hands up - who knew that vaping would help you become a chemist, engineer, mathematician and chef? How can it not be better than smoking??

Wow .. You guys are so scientific ... I've got my 50/50 24 mg Nic base ... Stick some in a small bottle ... Bung in a few drops of any flavour I fancy ... Give it a shake ... Stick a few drops in a dripper .. Have a vape ... Add more flavour if needed...job done ... Then pop it into whatever atty I'm using .... I expect many will be horrified by this approach but it works for me

That probably works well for a single flavour but when mixing flavours together and even some single flavours, they need time to steep so their flavours get enfused together properly.

( vg, pg, nic base ) ??? I chose 18mg vpg nic base as the nicotine thingy does worry me, what if I work it out wrong etc, not worried about the wearing gloves etc, I wont be wearing gloves or masks but don't want to kill myself cos my maths went skew wiff
I just wondered if it gives the same results? I know it should but it makes it seem so easy.
