beeper, please check the following: 1. if the axis on the venting cap is clean (clean it with autosol if it has black marks on it) 2. Do the same with the base of the button where it touch the axis 3. stretch the battery button 4. screw all the way the center post of GGTB 5. clean all the threads of the tube and the threads of the caps. Dont do all of them at once. Do 1 thing per per time to see what the problem was Many thanks to imeo and everyone else for your advice. It is always much appreciated Still no joy as yet to report. Was considering just buying a couple of 17670's and a brand new charger but will have a go with the above ^ recommendations first. Not sure if it makes a difference but have had a look at one of those 'exploded' diagrams of the GGTB and it appears that both the original internal springs have been replaced, would this be a problem? I hope to have better news soon.

Was so hoping for better news Beeps I've never had to replace the springs on either my GG Grant (over 2 years old) or my GGTS (over a year old) so not going to be able to help you with that

The battery charger holds a single battery 18650 it says so I assume that's the batteries that came with it too. Using a standard 901 atty btw. is this wrong? I've just had a look on e-cigz and these are the batteries compatible with the GGTB: 1 x 16340 1 x 14500 1 x 14650 2 x 17340 2 x CR2 2 x 16340 1 x 17670 I can't fit the 18650 into my GGTB (it's protected but not the AW type). Sorry to ask the obvious Beepy, is it the 14650 you are using and are you using the false battery thingwee with it?

Good evening Well, the GGTB is now slightly cleaner than the pretty clean state it was already in!. I have taken it apart to do this. So. I am now unsure whether it's a battery or connection problem. I have plenty of assurances that it was fully functioning with the batteries supplied which makes me rather concerned. Have been really studying the attomiser pin connection in the GG and wondering how it could EVER work with a normal 901 atty- the connecting post/ pin is tiny, unlike the connecting post on my old SD which is large and flat.. I think that I may as well go ahead and try new batteries next as at least I can possibly use or even sell them in the future. Thank you all for your advice as ever I am determined to sort this out!

It does though Beepsie and ever so well . . . that was one of the reasons those with GG's could get those dodgy Eastmall atomisers working, because you can adjust the central pin/post on the atomiser connection to suit . . . if you've moved that back, it maybe not be making contact with what you're using.

Please beepsie, pull the pin back from inside the cap, screw in your atomiser & then gently push the pin back until you can feel it makes contact with the atomise. Perpy is right - it works really well Plus as Clutter says, are you using the false telescopic battery?

Oh right re the EastMall atomisers, that does make sense Perps.
I have been looking at the hexagonal connecting post with a magnifying glass (as you do like) and have noticed that the bottom of the post appears to be sawn off half way through the thread- ie. it's not smooth and flat so as to make a fully flush connection with the atomiser. I am wondering whether this is as it should be?

Don't know if this helps but this is what my end cap looks like with the pin in and out, 'scuse the juice!. If the pin isn't screwed in enough it won't make contact with the atty connection. I'm pretty sure if everything is connected there won't be a problem with the GG, more likely a battery issue.

Dear Chrissie, am using one 18650 battery.
I have tried doing as you suggest with regards to adjusting the pin!
(Hope that another GGTB user will advise as to whether the pin I've described above is normal).

Lee, thank you so much for posting those pics It helps clear up some confusion for me - the pin on both my older GG's don't have threads, you just either push or pull them to adjust them

Are you sure it's an 18650 as I thought the biggest a GGTB would take is a 17670.

Beeps, I don't understand how a 18650 battery fits? are you sure it's not a 14650 5v battery? If so, I'm fairly certain you will need to use the false battery with it.
