Tried setting my Sphia tonight with little success so looking foursome help, I've watched the YouTube videos but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Ive fitting the softer red internal orings to the top of my salt and pepper tank also. So after fitting I filled and opened about a turn and a half. Seemed fine one I got it going but gurgling quite a bit, took it of the mod and found quite a bad leak from the 510 connector. Thought I may have the juice control too far open but no matter how I set it it leaked through the 510. Then nothing at all, checked the coil and open circuit ! I'll sort that later so out with the second Sophia, set it up and only opened the juice control half a turn, mouth full of juice and loads out of the 510 connector. Im obviously doing something wrong but not sure what, any advise welcome, at present it looks like I'll have to use my protanks as these have me stumped

Greg have you set it up just like this guide: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/32737/sophia-rba-snp-guide?page=1&scrollTo=580347Also when filling up the tank (fill it up slowly) make sure the Sophia is fully closed and don't fill right too the top, leave a 3-5ml gap due too pressure, once filled close the top of the SnP tank and open up the Sophia about half of a turn and wait until no more bubbles come out, it's a learning curve with the amount of turns you need to do with the Sophia but once you have sussed it everything is a breeze from then on. Keep me informed how you get on.

Super-Shiny you really are the man, early days yet but recoiled and so far no leaks, tastes great at only that quarter turn open so think ill leave like that, i seen on youtube you open a full turn but i worry it will leak again and its fine as it is so far. It worked great on the nemesis so then the button jammed so I took it apart and adjusted and then spent ten minutes trying to cape but not a whisper, arty off and adjust the centre pin time and again and absolutely nothing, I was gutted. then I saw the battery on the desk So its all set up for the Mrs and I have a pro tank microcoiled with CW as back up for her. My sophia can wait as I definitely need more practice at this coiling Malarky, micro coils are so much easier.

I never try out of the box stuff as they always taste a bit icky or does not work as it should, especially with RBA's...........all that machine oil and poor coiling/wicking DIY is the key

Fantastic news If it works at a quarter turn then leave it at that, if you start to get a bit of a burnt taste do another quarter turn and so forth and so forth, if it starts to gurgle close it by a quarter turn and so forth and so forth, you can vape the gurgle away.

Set up No2 with 40/60 Red Astaire and its outstanding, the MVP2 is so bland in comparison and not a leak in site. Happy Xmas shiny you've certainly made a lot more stress free

Super-Shiny still having a few teething problems. I'm getting a burnt taste after a while, firstly I turned the kick down from 10 to 9 volts and ok then came back so slowly opened the juice control but still getting burnt taste occasionally, I had the juice control open 3 or 4 turns at one point. Also I've had to recoil twice today as the coils are going open circuit. I'm wonderingly my juice maybe too thick to wick well as I'm using red Astaire at 40/60 and using boots vg undiluted. Not sure if the juice is the issue but thinking of mixing RA again at 60/40 to see if that works better. Your thoughts on above plan or anything else I can try appreciated, on the plus side my coiling is improving One other thing, I notice the mouthpiece gets really quite warm towards the end of the vape, enough to be uncomfortable on the lips.

Greg depending on what ohms the coil is try turning it down a bit, also is that 40/60 vg/pg? if so that is quite a lot of vg especially if your vg is not even diluted. Also do you chain vape, i myself don't so it could be a reason i have never got a burnt taste from the sophia, if the juice is high in vg than the wick cannot wick fast enough. Just for reference with a 2.0 ohm coil i use 8 or 8.5 watts being used with 60/40 PG/VG juice, if your voltage is too high it could explain the burnt taste and the mouth piece getting hot. NOTE: Very important that you check for hot spots before using it

I was chain vaping yesterday but it was Christmas. I think I'll try mixing some 60/40 pg vg and see if the thinner liquid helps, I'm currently on 9 watts so not too far away but will tweak down to 8 also.

So given my thickness issues, my juice not me how best to thin my vg and at what ratio, if I use distilled water do I then still just assume its 100% vg in mixing calculators or I better just getting a different vg. As boots is 100% gv I'm assuming that's it stock consistency and if I were to buy a thinner alternative it will just be watered down anyway ?

Greg, I thin my vg with 10% vodka (always have some in the cupboard) and it makes the VG much easier to handle . I dont notice any difference in taste and I assume it's 100% VG in any recipes :-)
