I have an ipad and I love it..in my mind nothing would pull me away from apple...until hubby received a hudl ( tesco new tablet) it is fantastic for the money and performance wise I can't see much difference to my ipad ( apart from the quality of the camera that is)

I have 2 year old iPad which I love, I bung my shifts on the iPhone at work and they miraculously pop up on the iPad at home, no excuse to ever be late lol. The only issue I have with it is printing from it, we don't have a wifi printer at the moment and as the iPad doesn't have USB ports I have to email stuff to the kids and get them to print it, tis a pain but I still love it.

A most important question would be "what are you going to use it for?"

If you want to browse stuff and read books you can get away with 100€ for a tablet that suits those needs...
If you want to do gaming then you'll need to go to the 400-500 range.

Another positive thing about getting something other than an ipad is that you can add more storage space in it via the sd card slot, something I sometimes miss with my ipad

It took a lot to drag me away from my iPod touch, but the nexus 7 did it. Love mine, to bits. Much prefer android. The only bugbear is that the camera is front facing, with my face, I'm not gonna be taking a lot of selfies!

My two grandsons got these for Xmas, mainly to keep them off their parents iPads, and the quality was excellent... couldn't get them off them on Xmas morning.   I would need a bigger screen though, but ideal for them.

My current and previous phones have been iPhones and I love them, but my OH bought me a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 10.1 for Christmas and I'm over the moon with it. 16gb with a micro sd slot for up to another 32gb. Only been using it for a couple of days but so far I would have no hesitation in recommending it :-)

I have an iPad. Of not hesitate to recommend it.

Were I to go android I'd get a nexus. Googles own always get the updates fastest. I realise that's not always a positive thing but if there's a bug fix needed the nexus will get it first.

Currys have an Asus quad core tab at £130, great bit of kit (IV had the same one for ages now. Wont find a same spec tab by such a good brand on the highstreet. The nexus 7 is about £200 and pips it on performance for the extra cash. Samsung's galaxy tab is good don't get me wrong but you pay for the name over anything else!

Thanks padiho l've just picked up one of these little gizmos from tescos, a snip at £119 Seems relatively easy to negotiate! Intuative too!

I'm in the android camp as well, apple is a closed system.
With android you can expand memory,add USB sticks and in some cases USB peripherals such as game controllers etc.

This seems quite nice with a keyboard cover with it...
