I told him to get VG from boots. He collared me in the street (this is a neighbour though I don't know what no he lives at and he gets his e-cigs from the market) and said it was too thick. I told him to add a little vodka. He looked at me like I was crazy...
Did I tell him the right thing. I don't think he's interested in coming on here though I would love him too

Yep ... good advice Jane .... dilute neat VG at 10 - 15% with any cheap vodka or deionised water

Are you sure he was talking about the VG. I don't know why it would be too thick, just add and shake. Unless he wants to dilute by 90%. I know many use Vodka to dilute and thin, but I think it would evaporate out quite quickly.

I add 15% boiled water out the kettle @johanino, gives it just the right level of gloopiness, and means I get another vodka and coke out of every bottle

Ok...another thread of mine has descended into drunkenness. I don't want to drink. I have a stomach bug and paranoid delusions LOL

so boiled water instead of distilled is ok , cheaper lol I find that vodka removes some of the inherent sweetness of VG and adds a bit of throat hit to VG heavy mixes. Don't waste your money on good vodka such as Smirnoff unless you want to drink the rest of the bottle ofc ... any cheap supermarket brand will do for diluting VG.
