Hello, I want to give a shot to re-wicking my evod heads and I went through a few tutorials on this forum on how to do it so I really cant wait to give it a shot. I was thinking of using the Silica 2mm Wick and Kenthal 0.20mm wire for my Evod heads. I already ordered ohm meter so getting the wick and wire is my next step. Are these the correct components needed to re wick it? Thanks!

I'd suggest you try a micrcoil with 0.25 kanthal and 2 mm silica wick or even better and cheaper cotton wool wick. I find microcoils much easier to build and there longer lasting than standard wrapped coils, there much easier to rewick to.

I'm with gregb on this one, micro coils last much longer and seem to have less problems with the dreaded gurgle when done correctly.

Then give them a burn to get them glowing and as soon as you release the button, squash them with some tweezers, hold a few seconds and blow to cool. Repeat a few times.

Looking at that tutorial I don't suppose I could get the same result with silica wick? if I was to stick with the 2mm silica wick and wrapping without the needle and tweezers do I need 0.2 or 0.25 wire?

If your not microcoiling then use 0.2 kanthal and 2mm silica. Won't be as good as micrcoil and cotton though IMO.

The cotton will need replacing every 1/2 weeks, or when you change juice. Dry burn the coil and re-wick. They are a lot better than the factory produced ones, and when you've done a few you'll be doing it with your eyes shut.

Hello, Is this a good cotton to use for the coils? It says 100% pure natural... I couldn't find organic coils anywhere around my town.

Hello, Is this a good cotton to use for the coils? It says 100% pure natural... I couldn't find organic coils anywhere around my town. That type of cotton wool has generally been bleached but if you boil it, squeeze out the excess water and dry it out on a radiator for example it will be fine. Organic cotton would be better and less faff if you can find it ... most local pharmacies should stock it.
