Well, I'm just back from a lovely afternoon spent with Lolli.. I didn't get lost, the weather was beautiful and we sat overlooking Christchurch harbour. We talked non stop for three hours and the time just flew by. Lolli forgot her e cig stuff! I had my passthrough and power pack and a new pre-filled cart so Lolli had a vape on that... Have to say that even tho' we were sitting in the 'smoking' section, I DID feel ever so slightly self conscious about vaping in public. Where did that come from??? I wish you all could meet Lolli... Well what a delightful day !! We started in the car park, where I had a large umbrella ^UP^ (in bright, warm sunshine!!!) for ID purposes I was scrutinizing everyone driving in (& getting some very odd looks!!) & still managed to not see Lynda Good job I had the brolly up - which sort of stood out rather!! - & she found me - mind,it would have been difficult not to As she says a lovely afternoon in a lovely place - I'm so pleased we met up. I forgot my bits, left in bag on kitchen table - like you do!! Lynda was prepared, & out came the vaping gear -lol- I'm sure we got one or two furtive looks Lynda vaped elegantly & I joined in too, between having the odd ciggie (still a 50/50 thing for me - but it's still GOOD 'cause it's still half the noxious-ness I used to have!!) The time whizzed by - we had a nice time Now, the tricky bit - I just LOVE the passthrough & power pack thing - I'm converted - a fan & I sooo want to get them --- BUT --- PROBLEM --- HELP --- the power pack Lynda has was 'bout £7.99 - same as Lilac's & they're ALL SOLD OUT They can be found at lots more money of course Does anyone pleeeeeeeeeeez know where I can get one at the cheaper price??? (oh & how many volts, or woteva they are, I should get???) Different sellers seem to use different terms - out of my depth with them. Anyway, be grateful for any help. Can someone get their magic wand out please AND our next 'southern vape in' is gonna include Mungo

Yes I think that would work with an inline battery passthrough. The specs are fairly similar to the Kensington Powerpack - just slightly lower Mah which means you won't get quite as long without a recharge.
Specs from Lynda's link
Capacity: 1500mAh DC output: 5V / 1A maximum USB input: 5V / 0.5A
From what I can work out from the Kensington site the specs are as follows :
5V 1A 1800 mah.
But I'm not an expert so can anyone else help?

Scylla, I sometimes think I've learnt a lot about Amps/volts/watts/Mah but still get confused how different websites show that info - or even worse lack of info.
I know for certain that the higher the Mah, the longer the battery will last before needing to be recharged.
I'm also fairly certain we need to be looking at 5volts for charging & if we are using a passthrough without an inline battery (like the Garry Dibbly ones) we need a device that has at least 2Amps to make it work at full capacity.

Thanks v much for looking. What is an inline battery?? Is the 901 , 510 passthrough one of these?? And the power packs are both 1 Amp?? - so wonder if "Lynda's link" one will work. No one else posting yet - wish I knew what to do.

Lolli, there are 2 main types of passthroughs.
1) The majority of passthroughs for sale (whether 901 or 510 etc) have a battery in them (inline). This means that whatever power supply you use, it is just constantly recharging/powering that battery. Eventually, like all batteries it will no longer be able to take a charge. Plus the output will be determined by the battery & not the charger/power pack USB hub. The max amount of power from an inline battery passthrough will be approx 3.7v - the same as a standard e-cig battery.
2) A non inline passthrough, doesn't contain a battery. So the charging source goes direct to the atomisers. With a good 5v 2-3amp hub, you will get a constant 5v power to your passthrough. For many vapers, this is what is considered as the "sweet spot" ie, lots of vapor, great throat hit but no burning or killing your atomisers.
I also so wish someone else would come along & help Lolli. From looking at Lynda's link, I'm fairly certain that power pack could work as well as the Kensington one. As Lolli says, they both only seem to have 1amp output though.

Did you get my email? If you bought it, don't pay for it yet. OK Smokey does this USB charger (it's a 901 but he has 510 too) which might connect up to the PCC, but I'm not sure if you'd need another male/female adapter to connect it up to the ones provided with the PCC on eBay. www.oksmokey.com/store/product.php?id=128There are too many strange bits and pieces in that listing for me to take it all in I've got a feeling I'm wasting everyone's time scylla

Scylla, I think the only thing that will do is slowly charge a battery. I doubt it will be powerful enough to power a passthrough. (((Lolli))) I wish I could work out why you are showing as a guest again
