Don't worry about the eBay thing, Lolli - you made an error in good faith and you won't let them be out of pocket. It's a drop in the ocean to them. I'm so desperately hot 'n bothered I forgot altogether than you don't want that power thing to charge with, you want to vape from it scylla

Lolli, the cheapest non inline passthroughs are the Garry Dibbly ones. He makes them himself & use to sell them via his website called e-cig city. However he is now just selling them via Liberty Flights website. www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=58However, just to confuse things (sorry) I think Lynda's passthrough is an inline battery one? I'm sure she will confirm this for you. The inline ones are cheaper to buy but at some point you will have to buy new batteries for it plus you won't get a 5v vape from it. Don't worry if you don't go ahead with buying the power pack from the Ebay seller. They are a busines so Distant Selling regs allow you to change your mind. (((Scylla))))

Oh Lolli I'm sorry, I've never owned a passthrough with an inline battery so got to admit that I don't know if the batteries can be replaced.

Have to say that I can't use my GD passthrough with my power pack, only the in-line battery one, which is the one Lolli with the brolly saw. Lynda

I also so wish someone else would come along & help Lolli. From looking at Lynda's link, I'm fairly certain that power pack could work as well as the Kensington one. As Lolli says, they both only seem to have 1amp output though. I think that would work. I have a GD passthrough so will whizz into Maplins one day this week and see if they will let me test it out. According to the blurb, it comes with a 60% charge on it, so that should be fine for testing, providing it is not in a sealed box. I was looking at buying another Kensington and searched the PCWorld stores near me. According to the website there is a store near where I will be working tomorrow that had them in stock about a month ago. I have a mountain of jobs to get through tomorrow, but will try to call in there just to check in case there is one lurking. I've added the store to my sat nav so I will remember to call in there inbetween jobs. I will also have another search for this *&^%$&* Nano charger for Lynda, but that will be later in the week when I clear my desk

So much for whizzing into Maplins - none near me nor on my routes, have any stock.
There is one in Eastbourne, where I will be working next Tuesday, so if no other stores get stock in, my little testing session will have to wait until then!

James the one you have linked with wouldn't keep a passthru going for very long. - it's only 300Mah. That's really good of you Jaki, hope the one in Eastbourne has them in stock for you to try

Actually James, scrub what I said, I guess 300Mah isn't too bad. I've just kind of got used to using 18650 batteries in my GGTS that are 2500 Mah

Do you have the Kensington power pack? My GD works just fine on those (I have two as I am so good at losing mislaying things). I tried plugging it directly into the USB port in my car and it just makes a popping sound. Good job the car is still under warranty as the USB port has never been the same since I tried that.........

Jaki, I'm surprised that your GD passthru works well with the Kensington power pack as it's only 1Amp. To get the best out of the GD passthru you really need at least 2Amps.
Lol, I bought a USB adapter for the lighter socket in my car & it's as good as useless.
