I've bored everyone with this before . . . but in the mornings when I go to take a vape, I think holy heck, how did this taste absolutely fine last night, it's ripping my throat out now.

Same here Perpetua... normally turn the watts down to about 6 In the morning and increase them back up to 8 or 8.5 by about 10.

talking of 'questions I've been meaning to ask for ages' Am I the only recent smoke free member who's got the drippiest nose in creation?!? I'm hoping it a side effect of quitting the fags and not an allergy to pg or vg...............? The first 6weeks of quitting fags i was always ill, chicken pox, colds, sickness. I never normally get ill. Apparently the chemicals in fags actually help kill off bugs etc (this i found on the internet somewhere) true or not it makes sense.

I find the throat hit far too strong first thing in the morning, especially if I haven't had breakfast. Even if I turn the power down to minimum, I tend to wait until I've had at least one cup of coffee before I try. I'm often in the car and en route to work before I have my first draw. Pepperty I also have a constantly drippy nose and have had since I started vaping, and I had the mad itching thing for a few weeks but no red blotches. I assume I have a mild sensitivity to something but I haven't really investigated it. Thankfully the issues haven't been major enough to put me off. Hopefully the drippy nose will resolve or I'll have to have a juggle with the PG/VG ratio, the rudolf look isn't good in January

Makes my nose run if I chain vape.
Also, right from when I started vaping I noticed a very pleasant nose-hit (inside it, not outside!) when I take the first few draws after an hour or two without vaping. It soon dies down, which is a shame. I put this down to nicotine, it does not happen if I use nic-free mixes (which is very rare, I must admit).
My style is into the mouth, hold, then slowly release through nose whilst exhaling gently. I occasionally draw from the mouth into the lungs, though not directly from the PV. I don't find the TH particularly pleasant. Might try more VG to see what it is like, I usually mix at 70:30 though occasionally at 60:40.
Cheers like,
Jono

I'm finding this quite interesting, all the different effects we are getting from vaping. You would think that we'd all be basically the same, but there are some of us with runny noses, itchiness, sharp throat hits - some just in the mornings and some after eating. We need to conduct our own clinical trials on the effects of vaping and work out the percentages of who suffers from what effect/s. And it seems we all vape in different ways, some taking short puffs, some long puffs, and so far only jonoclouds has mentioned releasing the vapour through the nose - I don't do that, never did that when I smoked either. Just taken a few puffs and realise now that I inhale into the lungs straight after I've puffed, never really taken much notice before exactly how I do vape All very interesting I must say

tootsWell variety is said to the spice of life.. Myself, I have a specific mix for first thing vapes and thankfully have had no problems to date, even after eating. (mind you I did used to be a pipe smoker, so my throat must be like leather )

This is an interesting thread. When I first started vaping I treated it 'almost' the same as having a cig but being aware inhaling lots into the lungs would be a bad idea. Now I vape and exhale through my nose and inhale the rest so kind of softening the blow. I get massive TH when I first vape any liquid in my clearo, then after a few drags it calms down. Like toots I get a big TH after eating as well. But I got so used to vaping the way I do I became convinced I no longer cared about TH. Then I got some juice framp Vapemunki (which I love, Hobbit's Choice is amazing) and some of it, well actually mostly Bazilla Custard I got NO TH at all and suddenly I was all WTF? And my new nonchalant attitude towards TH went right out of the window. I think some of us subconsciously still want some kind of TH. I think what we're experiencing as far as the thread topic goes is you just get used to the TH and forget it's there then when you stop or do something else (like eating) or sleep, it whacks you in the head again. Kind of like when you first smoked strong cigs and thought you didn't like it but then got used to the TH and it ended up feeling smooth because you became immune to the effect. I think we immunise ourselves against it more often with vaping. That's my theory, and it probably blows, but it's the only one I've got

My vaping ' technique ' is completely different to how I used to smoke toots . . . before I'd be taking large drags and inhaling down, now I'm a chugger. Only taking a percentage of the vapour down every third chug or so. Seeing the vapour, holding a nice flavour in my mouth for a few seconds, not sure what that signify's but that's what is enjoyable and satisfying to me now.

No runny or drippy nose, but with some juices, mainly sweet ones like vanilla I get an occasional sneezing fit. My vaping method is a little like I used with my pipe. I take a draw of about 2 seconds, hold it in my mouth and take another quick little draw and let it down my throat some, then exhale slowly through my nose and mouth, this gives me a nice ohhhmmm moment as I exhale Have also sussed that with vaping its better to take more slowly and more relaxed state of mind than with smoking. Interesting what was said by gazd about smoking chemicals killing off bugs as I was wondering about summer. Usually I'm in a cloud of pipe smoke so rarely get bothered by flies and insects. Was wondering if thats gonna change now I'm vaping. Particularly vaping the sweet ones. I did hear somewhere that midges don't like lemon, so perhaps its time to stock up on lemon juices for the summer

A large drag then holding it in my lungs for a few seconds and slowy releasing tends to help give me a nice nic hit if I'm gasping but that may be due to just holding my breath for a bit. I'll do that a few times for the warm and fuzzy feelings then normal vaping till I start yawning or niccuping then I know I've had enough

We get the same TH after eating, have to have a quick drink before a vape. In the mornings I walk the dog before breakfast so always have a drink of Juice (oranage or cranberry not e liquid ) before I go then take the MVP with me and start on low watts and volts and increase as I go. When I get back its breakfast, 2 cups of coffee and pick up a mech and vape
