Hi everyone! Im Jax and I started vaping on 16.12.13. My son and his GF introduced me to it and I haven't looked back since. My son ordered it from Totally Wicked in separate parts as he knew what he was doing but TW thought he was ordering it for himself and didn't send instructions..hence I've spent hours on the internet and Youtube trying to learn what I should and shouldn't do and also to find out what all the parts are called! I had a couple of teething problems at first, I thought my battery had packed in as I couldn't get the red light to come on to show it was charging. Back to Youtube to see if anyone could advise me about batteries..after gently lifting the battery to make a good connection and cleaning everything, (with no joy) I decided to try to attempt to get my son on the phone to help me. A long phone call later I discovered that the battery was already charged so that was why no red light. The problem was the atomiser, I changed that and it was ok. The other problem was the plastic 'thingy' that holds the fluid kept leaking so after deliberation I ordered a stainless steel tank as an upgrade. While I was waiting for delivery of that, the plastic one decided to make a fool of me and has never leaked since. My problem now is that I keep running out of juice so thought I would try DIY mixing. This decision might not have been a good one.. I went onto their site to look at the info, saw that they say you need 3 things, Nicotine, Flavouring and Diluent. Seemed simple enough at the time..but..The diluent shows the bottle and a drop down box with a choice of AG, Glycerine (VG) and PG. The flavouring I was buying was on what they call YOYO in which the price rises and falls, you have to pick it while it's low and complete your sale within a time scale or it all cancels out and you have to start all over again. I ordered Platinum Ice nicotine, my 5 flavourings, then saw the drop down box for the diluent. I had to complete my order quickly and ordered the Glycerin as it said (VG) next to it. My question is..Do I need Glycerin AND PG or is the Glycerin sufficient as a diluent on it's own? Apologies for so much detail in my first post but I thought if I explained properly it may help another 'newbie' who may encounter the same problems. Thanks in advance for any advice that you might give..and Happy Vaping!

Hi and welcome. Lots of people who have a intolerance to pg use only vg. It can be quite thick, so you may need to add 10% distilled water or vodka to it.

Welcome fieryjax.
You seemed to have picked things up very quickly. Well done to you! I was too scared to try mixing for months, Munky is right. You can get VG in Boots chemist. You say you are desperate. Have you run out of juice?

Hi Blownupdolly, Yes sadly! I'm finding it quite expensive too but would rather have this than the stinky stuff.

What area do you live? If you were close by, I could donate you some juice to see you through till you are sorted. Or, depending where you are, there could be a vendor who lives nearby you could buy some ready mixed from.

My question is..Do I need Glycerin AND PG or is the Glycerin sufficient as a diluent on it's own? Welcome to you Jax. Yes you may need both those dilutents, depending on the finished strength and PG/VG ratio you like. Have you tried out our forum mixing calculator? That will do the calculation for you. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/page/calculator
