Right, I have had my Kick in my nem for around 4 months. It is in constant use all day long everyday and has been doing what it is supposed to do.
However today I have had to rewick my kayfun twice because the coil has become slightly clogged within just a few hours of vaping it and tastes horrible.
I can usually get at least 8 hours out of a coil and it never tastes clogged (resulting in burning taste from the juice) it just loses flavour. The main reason I got the kick was to get longer out of the coil which it has been doing just fine.
So does a Kick 2 have a lifespan? It is possible I have wrapped the coil to tight twice in a row (But I doubt it though because since I have had the kick this has never happened)
So has my Kick Kicked the bucket?

No idea but I hope they last longer than 4 months. If you had one of those passthrough voltmeters you could see the voltage the kick is outputting on load and then based on you atty resistance work out the power the kick is providing. W=Vsquared/R

I'm no real expert, but it could be that it's now just passing the batteries voltage straight through rather than boosting it. I remember a P Busardo video mentioning that the dna20 does that when you have the wattage set too low… I think they only boost, not cut.
So if it is doing it throughout the full range of the pot, it sounds like it could be buggered.
Electronics can fail, although rare these days. Hopefully your vendor will take it back to test with the potential for replacement under warrantee.

The nem @ 6.5w would not burn that juice which I usually vape on a 2.2ohm coil at 3.6v..... I am a little annoyed really, I have just looked back through my emails to work out that it is only around 3 months old. Im really not having a good vaping weekend, Spheroid was pissing me off yesterday, Penelope's resistance was jumping all over the place today plus this kick.................................................... I need an ego and a ce2.

Its been stepping the power down to 6.5 Watts for the last three months, but it does seem it is just pushing the voltage straight through now Hopefully keith and Lisa @ cloud9 will send me a replacement but I am really not sure what warranty there is on vaping gear, is it the same as normal consumer items? If so I guess im covered for upto 6 months?

I am sure CL9 will change it over as long as there as been no misuse and that AW IMR batteries have been used as i am sure that will be asked.

I wouldn't have thought you'd be burning wick at an unregulated voltage, if anything it sounds like it's stuck high so you haven't really been adjusting the pot? just left at your fixed position? Just wondering as they can fail sometimes and the likely time for it to break is when it's moved. Perhaps have a good old turn back and forth a few times and try again? At least you got it from somewhere decent. I wouldn't imagine you'd have any problem getting it replaced

No mate, it has sat at the same position since I set it. I think he is also saying turn it back and forth once to see if it changes anything.
