Changing ink cartridges on a Deskjet...

Don't know about your model but I have a HP and had the same issue. I emailed the eBay seller and they told me how to override the not oem cartridge message.

Take all cartridges out of printer , turn power off at wall socket, turn printer back on, refit all cartridges, sorted 
If you bought from eBay just go into your purchase history to identify seller

It's the 'refit all cartridges' that is getting to me! They just won't go in!

This printer business p***** me off.

I deliberately bought a printer that would take non-OEM cartridges. I threw my HP in the bin.

I now have a Cannon.

Cannon "original" £39.99
Cannon via Amazon or ebay (same quality, more ink) £9.99

It's the biggest rip-off on the planet.

I just changed the ink cartridges in my HP printer took out the old ones tried to fit the new and they wouldn't fit after a lot of head scratching it turned out the new cartridge sits in a cradle that you have to remove get them in the right side easy peasy

Just an update...

I am currently thrashing myself with a damp twig while writing out 1,000 times... "I must not be a prat ALL my life"

Have got them in with no trouble, having found it helps if you put them in the right way, although I'm sure I memorised the positions they were in when I took them out, but guess not.

However, not all good news as the printer will either not recognise them, or when it does, says they are out of ink.

So, guess I'm off into the grips of buying the genuine product at their rip off prices.

Did you try my method above, take all out, power down, power back up, refit all (the right way round  )
Power down at wall socket not on printer.

Thanks Super-Shiny, have just had a look, and prices very similar to the supermarket where I pretend to work, so, with staff discount may give it a go, while a get a refund on my 'so called comapatible' purchase.

i bought one of these for the epsom[they do others] once up and running no problem down side if you have cats no good as the keep knocking it over and after one ink spill to many got rid of it,has reset chip built in just press button!
